These quotes are from one month ago.
"Imagine the worst situation, that we lose Fábregas and Nasri; you cannot convince people that you are ambitious after that."

“And even if you lose Nasri, to find the same quality player, you have to spend again the same amount of money. Because you cannot say, you lose the player and you do not replace him.

“I believe for us it is important the message we give out. For example, you talk about Fabregas leaving, Nasri leaving. If you give that message out, you cannot pretend you are a big club, because a big club first of all holds onto its big players and gives a message out to all the other big clubs that they just cannot come in and take away from you.

so, still a big club, whinger?

I'm only messing I still think arsenal are a big club

Buy some fucking big players then Wenger you nob instead of buying for the future constantly

#AfC boss Wenger has just denied making those 'we're not a big club if we sell Cesc and Nasri.'

erm, yes you did, arsene. they were on the arsenal official website.

No need to gloat, I saw a few commentators saying something similar about us selling Torres. Tomorrow we will be playing Exeter while Arsenal will be playing champs league.

It's been a disaster for Wenger no doubt but theyve got plenty going for them down at the Emirates.

Indeed.

What the fuck is Neil being smug about ?

He's always banging on about *us* buying shit players and scrapping with Spurs for 4th place.

wednesday is make or break for arsenal, the game at the weekend is almost irrelevent comparison

And I hope they win it, it's important they have more on their plate than they can handle.

But I digress .. yeah keep buying for the future Mr. Wenger and don't listen to these naysayers.

I don't believe that Wenger is simply unwilling due to some grand principled stance, to buy players. I think that's horseshit.

I think that they aren't permitting him, or the restrictions on buying players are restrictive in terms of wages or the like.

I don't understand what planet people are living on where they think a manager is just not spending while they see talent leave, just to amuse themselves, even as their job comes under threat.

I doubt anyone thinks he's doing it just to amuse himself, but I don't think the idea that he's doing it on (footballing) principle is horsesh!t either. Wenger's position hasn't been under question to the same extent in the past, not least because they had more success then, but their approach to transfers has never varied during his tenure. No doubt this has been partly due to the way they've zeroed in on building and establishing the Emirates Stadium before anything else, but they'll have made sure they appointed a manager who would be in tune with that order of priorities.
