Spurs are a good team. It's no surprise they beat City at home, or are second in the league ahead of Liverpool. They usually finish ahead of Liverpool. They did last season. And the season before that. In fact, if you look at recent history, they almost always do.

So let's not be cunts about it. They're a good team, with loads of great players who we all wish played for Liverpool, and they will expect to finish above us, for obvious reasons. They usually do.

Do they usually finish above us Brendan? You were a little vague on that point.

Reactions: jan
how many more undeserved stoppage time winners are chelsea, arsenal and utd going to get

Maybe they don't rate him?

Well why did they go to the trouble of getting him, then??? He didn't want to go initially, so they really chased after him, charmed him, and then he's Nobby No-mates there. Weird. It's one of those loan deals that really bemuses me. Are his injuries much worse than was claimed?

Probably needed a back up.

Strange, though, that we let him go if that was the case. WE need back up. Klopp seemed to have changed the policy so that we push the other clubs to commit to the players we loan. Flanno's deal seems now the exception to the new deal. This guy REALLY needs to play. This is a crucial year for him. If he's just going to sit on the bench at Burnley he's finished.

He should have gone to the Championship.
Still, I'm not too worried. We've got a decent fullback in Milner and also, that Alexander Arnold kid looks like business.

Quiet Modo!!!!

Remember what happened the last young full back you told us was the business!!!!

Not this again.

I wouldn't call any of Spurs team "great", certainly quite a few "good" ones, and I don't see them as a great deal better than us.

They've certainly been more consistent and are reaping the rewards of a good manager and a settled squad.

Tighter in defence, yes, but not quite as good going forward based on this season.l, as evidenced by results so far.

I think they'll do well - but the European campaign will take its toll at some point.

They're no where near as good as us going forward, what they do have is almost certainly the best defence in the league, and that'swhy they're so consistent, fair play to them.

Iago Aspas scored twice as Celta are leading Barcelona 3:0 still in the first half.
Edited: he only scored once. The other was o.g.

Feyenoord have now won their opening 8 Eredivisie matches. 2 nil today. Jorgensen is joint leading goalscorer. 5 points clear of Ajax and 7 clear from PSV.

Mourinho's fucked. It's a completely different league now to when he dominated, the league is littered with sides who can score goals for fun but can't defend, it's become more and more attack focused. Even the tops sides concentrate on extra quality at the top end of the pitch proving to be the difference, rather than a solid backbone. His side's are fairly ponderous and static, routed in a rigid system. For all the quality and money spent, their two big players upfront in Rooney and Ibra are both slow, great technicians but no real verve, they're constantly getting bailed out by kids who have a bit of zip about them. Which is ironic given they've spent fucking millions on supposed match winners.

Agree - the league and the issue that has been developing regarding the standard of players in world football is different from what it was 10 years ago. Most of the players he has are quite static - and there is not much difference in talent between them and the teams he will face. They will struggle if he pursues his normal rigid tactics - what seems to be making the difference these days is all the pressing and the fitness level of players.

Not this shit again, yes let's be cunts about it, it's got nothing to do with Spurs being a good team, just simply the fact that they have one of those most intolerable fan bases on the planet, who proclaim themselves the greatest around at any sniff of success. Now I know you have some sort of crush on the club and can't resist telling us how much better they are than us every time they gain a bit of form, but may I suggest you move to one of their forums to unload your lily white load?

I don't like Spurs. I actively dislike Spurs. Obviously not as much as the likes of Everton, United and Chelsea, but that's only natural.

The rest of your post is too embarrassing to merit a response.

Behave. City need knocking out of their stride.

Absolutely. A messy draw would have been acceptable, but given a choice between who anyone would prefer to win, it's pretty fucking obvious that Guardiola and City needed a bloodied nose.

Disagree with Vertonghan or however you spell his name.
Argument for how would you play Alli in our system?
Rose would get in the team. But that'd put Milner back in midfield to no room for Dier.

Lloris and Alderweirld would walk into our team. Surprising we didn't bid £40m for the latter when he was at our feeder club.

Alli is a brilliant player. Scored 10 goals from midfield last season. That kind of return demands respect and he'd find a place in our team easily.

Whats embarrassing is coming onto a Liverpool forum and repeatedly taking it upon yourself to tell everyone that Spurs are a better team than Liverpool, for little or no reason. Christ it's like KHL and Eriksen, but at least KHL doesn't deny his understandable admiration for his countryman.
