We won on penalties

It's amazing how relaxed I am watching penalties when it's England and not Liverpool. It was even quite enjoyable.

Interesting about Rashford carrying an injury, because otherwise he should be starting.

Dele Alli was invisible and Sterling seems incapable of bringing his club form to the Engkand team, so they should both drop out really.

Average performance. Great saves from your keeper.
Actually, England was almost as bad as Colombia when it came to being dirty, cheating, diving, moaning and harassing the shit ref.
Can't believe this team has a shot at reaching the semis.

Uruguay and Belgium will win on Friday. England will beat Sweden just about and will face Croatia in the second semi final.

Bye, Colombia, you snide, whiny motherfuckers.

England have scored two goals (one a massive fluke) from open play and face Sweden and then possibly Croatia to make a World Cup final.

It's all a bit odd.

Totally this. It was quite surreal, everyone around me was absolutely shitting it, barely able to watch the screen, however I was perfectly fine laying back thinking "this is quite interesting you know", which is weird because I'd be over the moon if we somehow won this thing.

@dantes - yes the indigenous Englishman does get a little drunk to celebrate and the chants of "Ingerland" do sound rather aggressive, but it's still the country I have been bought up in and recognize the good aspects of it. You sound just full of hate - and your reasoning regarding Kane being fouled is totally off. If England do not get to the final - by the end of the tournament I reckon Kane will be the most fouled player. Did you see what happened in the Tunisia game ? - every penalty has been deserved - in Tunisia he got wrestled like in WWF, against Panama two players tried to fuck him like two male pornstars doing a female, and against Colombia the guy was literally jumping onto his back. As LFC supporters we recognize Kane as being a good striker we all mock - but even the most insane person would recognize the way he is being constantly fouled. I don't see him reacting like Neymar. Fucks sake.

On your wish for Brazil to show how great they are - all I can say is that I only had a like for football once my father forced me to watch the 82 team as a 7 year old. I have watched out for them in each world cup to see their new stars but in the last 3 world cups - I can see a decline in both talent and to be honest Neymar is someone I cannot stand watching. I think he puts himself before his own team, and nation - it's all about him - so I really really hope Hazard and Co will fuck him and his team proper come Friday.

Well for me the best aspect of it was deported after being fired, and it happened to be Colombian and a scientist. So there's no coming back from that.

Our matches vs Sweden are always dour, as will this be, but we’re due a worldy and it will come from Loftus-Cheek as a 70th odd minute sub

I think the Russians will get past Croatia too.

They shouldn't. Croatia should win fairly comfortably, but I just can't help thinking the Russians will get through, possibly with a little more VAR host bias.

Lol me too - I definitely love Liverpool more than England. I had some dark thoughts including even enjoying my breakfast the next day whilst reading the inevitable press backlash to another terrible WC, but it seems we have delayed that until Saturday 🙂 Seriously though I do want England to do well, I was gutted when Jordan missed and glad he has another chance to do well. Our youngsters seem to be doing well WC wise I think we have won 2 youth WC tournaments recently so eventually I expect our chances of winning a WC to improve.

What is it with sterling and Lingard? All pace but no intelligence or first touch.

I was surprised when Hendo took one and suspect that's more the result of other players lacking bottle than it is of him being high on the manager's preferred list of peno takers. (BTW on the subject of Hendo, I've seen that ref have decent games before so it was a disappointment when he and the VAR between them didn't send off the Colombian thug who nutted Hendo's jaw. That could easily have cost us our place in the tournament.)

I think he was trying to create a collision with the intention of grabbing his face and falling over. Probably because it was never a free kick in the first place and that was the only way to even it out. The impact was unfortunately mistimed, but still Henderson lived, no thoughts and prayers were needed.

It was embarrassing.

Dantes - do you mean Hendo created the incident? Because if you do, that's the sheerest cobblers. And it doesn't matter a damn that the headbutt wasn't hard - it was a foul and a sending-off offence, pure and simple.

I was more surprised he saved it, he’s not very good.

England deserved to go through. Maguire and Kane were brilliant

He's not bad for a kid keeper and for someone so slight. I really liked his post match interview where he said himself he was small for a keeper, but compounded it by saying he has fantastic agility and knows he is good.

Good on him, rather that than the two airheads we have, both of whom you've championed previously, tbf.
