What's wrong with him? Given a rare chance to start against a lower-league opposition and still so ineffective that he had to be substituted at half time. Most of us didn't see the game, but by all accounts he was worse than Alberto, despite Luis being subbed at half time too. Even Aspas who had a torrid time adjusting to the Premiership is starting to improve and seems like he cares. To the contrary, Moses is showing no signs of life, fight or commitment.
What could be the reason? Moses is clearly a very talented player; I was kind of neutral on his loan deal, never loved him as a player, but naturally I thought he could be at least a little bit useful. Even those low expectations turned out to be massively disappointed. I can't help but think this is some kind of psychological/personality issue; maybe he really didn't want to be loaned out. I remember his face at his first game sitting in the stands at Anfield with Sakho, Ilori and Cissokho - he looked strangely unhappy. Can anybody find this picture? Either he doesn't want to be here (which is still not an excuse to be lackadaisical to the point of unprofessionalism) or he is going through some horrible transition in his personal life, some sort of depression or family trouble. But I don't think he looks as unhappy playing for Nigeria...
Whatever is the reason for this, I think the story of Moses at Liverpool has reached it's conclusion. If he can't make himself useful for 45 minutes against Oldham, he will not help us in future battles. This should be his last game for he club.
