The agent of Ajax star Urby Emanuelson has confirmed that there is a lot of interest in the player from top European clubs.

The 24-year-old has already made it clear that he wishes to leave the club and Ajax will be forced to sell him if officials don't want to see him leave in the summer for nothing.

"There is quite a lot of interest. I won't say anything about the clubs that are interested. However, I can confirm that I have told all the clubs that we won't do any business before January," said Brian Berkleef in De Telegraaf.

Media reports in the Netherlands have linked the player with a variety of different clubs and he has the quality to fit in and do well at any of them. However, he's unlikely to enjoy the same attention and importance he currently gets with Ajax.

Emanuelson is very comfortable in possession of the ball and this will make him an effective player in a club that likes to get the ball down and pass. He has good creative vision, which is important for setting up a variety of chances.

He's a versatile midfield player, which means he can cover a number of different positions. He can play in an attacking or defensive role in the midfield, which will be important for any club looking to sign him.

The problem Emanuelson faces is that he's linked with big clubs like Lazio in Italy and Liverpool in England. These clubs have big squads and a lot of players who can play his position. He will have to work very hard to become the main man at a new club.

"A transfer in the winter break is not an option. He wants to leave Ajax in a good way, hopefully with a title and he will put in 1,000 per cent to help make that happen," added Berkleef.

A lot of players in his position?

We have got no one for LB and LW, he can have free reign at his preferrred position...

According to a report on Voetbal International, ambitious Bundesliga side Wolfsburg are eager to add versatile midfielder Urby Emanuelson to their squad. The Dutch international currently plays for Eredivisie giants Ajax.

Head coach Steve McClaren has been unable to play in his preferred 4-2-3-1 formation so far due to a lack of wingers in Wolfsburg's squad and the English gaffer supposedly sees Emanuelson as the perfect solution to his problem.

The 24-year-old Emanuelson has made well over 150 official appearances for Ajax since making his debut in the 2004-05 campaign. The midfielder, who can play in defence as well, has an expiring contract with the Amsterdam side though and is looking for a new challenge.

Emanuelson has previously been linked with clubs such as Juventus, Liverpool and Schalke, but the latest reports emanating from The Netherlands suggest that Wolfsburg are sitting in pole position to sign the winger. The Wolfe are believed to be ready to move for Emanuelson in the January transfer window.

There are reports that Milan have secured a deal for Ajax left-winger Urby Emanuelson.

The Rossoneri have made it clear they are seeking a new left-back during the January transfer window.

On Friday, Vice-President Adriano Galliani declared it would not be Sampdoria’s Reto Ziegler or Genoa man Domenico Criscito unless the price-tag dropped considerably.

According to the Gazzetta dello Sport and Sky Sport Italia this morning, they have already found an alternative.

Emanuelson is a 24-year-old Holland international who can play on the left side of midfield or at left-back.

His contract with Ajax expires at the end of the season, so it would not cost much to prise him away six months early.

"It is impossible to turn down Milan," Emanuelson told Der Telegraaf.

It is reported he has been offered a three-and-a-half-year contract
.

Just read about his transfer to AC Milan for 1.5m euros. They've made some good acquisitions this season.

1.5 million euros?

Seriously?

Yup, his contract was expiring at the end of the season. Similar to the Afellay scenario I guess.

AC Milan have completed the signing of left-back-cum-left-winger Urby Emanuelson from Ajax. The 24-year-old has cost the Rossoneri a knockdown €1.5M and has penned a three-year deal at the San Siro.

Don't know the lad but from what I have read I thought he was gash.
A sort of inconsistent version of Babel

Nope. Coma at the very least.

1. Identify an Ajax player that you want to buy

2. Get in touch with Ajax and make an offer that they deem reasonable

3. Agree terms with the player

4. Deal done

Simple really isn't it?
