Bradley is a good, solid RB. But he's no Trent. The whole Trent defending thing has been massively overblown. Once he's gone, we'll start to speculate that we need more from RB than Bradley. Guaranteed.
Bradley isn't perfect. If Trent goes we still have to buy a right back and I hope we get a top class one.

If Bradley stays fit then I think you’ll be surprised.
Success also masks such debates from ever being raised. If we can continue to win things it won’t be discussed.

I don't get this argument at all, I have to say that the Spurs and the Real Madrid game where Bradley has been fully fit to participate - not once did I shit my own pants when an attacker went down that end. Are you lot not tired of stressing on that right side for the last 3 seasons watching Trent do his slow walk back to defend, to be constantly attacked down that side due to the gaping hole, and just the overall stress of it in the hope that Trent can pull off some one wonder pass out of 20 where all the others lead to nothing ?

Come on all of you - how long can we keep this support for Trent ? - its embarrassing now ,and almost pathetic of us. There is a ridiculous element to it as well - when you rely on a RB for creative output - it's almost like asking for fucking trouble. It worked for two and half seasons before the rest of the league and teams in Europe realized - "Oh look there is a fucking gaping vagina of a hole down that right - lets all go for a gang bang". I know football and tactics have changed - but the one thing managers can't hide from is that for nearly 99% of footballs history - creativity has come from the midfield and forwards not some guy hiding down the right or left side of defence.

He don't like defending, and always gets turned by a good winger these days - there is no point anymore - it's best if he does move on, and for the record - he definitely is not future captain material.

Great point about the crowd raiser.
Given this Bradley trait (knowing how to create a moment that brings the crowd into it), is there an argument for playing Bradley in home games and Trent away (for his experience and ability to instantly turn defence into attack)?

I feel like at his best, Bradley kind of turns back the clock and makes us a bit of a Klopp team again - full intensity and emotion. But it isn’t necessarily needed for every game.

Yea for sure although I’d 100% start Bradley against Everton.

Trent is with us at least till the summer and will be needed but Trents inability to try to defend makes him #2 in the RB role. When he was younger he was flying down the wings but now it looks like he carrying an injury or something. The number of chances he creates per game has gone down... I think the club should stick to £300k a week and then pay him 3k for every km he runs in a match

This was before the latest injury. Doesn't bode well...

But ... isn't that 3 impact injuries (inc the latest) ? In which case unlucky.
Is Jota unlucky too? We’ve seen this pattern before. Some bodies aren’t built for this. I’m now less hopeful of the legend that is Conor Bradley.

Kylian Mbappe has changed his bio on social media.
It now says "Owned by a duck".
Hopefully it's just growing pains a la Stevie G.
Stevie G’s record wasn’t this bad. I don’t remember it so anyway. Was it not related to a specific issue attributed to a tooth or something anyway? This seems different.

Might be getting old but I remember him being in and out a lot, mostly short-term stuff, and it being attributed to him debuting young while he was still growing.

Pretty sure there was a period where he struggled to play 2 games in a row.

Looked pretty clear early on:

First real injury period in 01/02 season then next one in 08/09.
Do remember miss him wc 02 and England really missed him but don’t remember any other sustained periods after that once tooth issue was fixed.

I think that was a small period with back issue and particular. Stevie G was a total athlete, Bradley seems built diff and the big concern is these injuries over a small period. He’s been more injured than fit it feels like.

Found this. Some of what Houllier says is argued to be an overstatement. I'm sure he's said elsewhere that the reserve coaches told him not to bother because Gerrard had so many injury issues. But this speaks of growing pains, even if Houllier exaggerated things.

Houllier: I'm pleased I spotted him very quickly. I saw an academy game and asked him to come with the pros immediately. I'm pleased we did that because Sammy Lee once said: 'You saved his career.' We sorted out his back problems [and] his growing problems gradually. That's why we were very progressive with him in his participation in the games. I remember we had to fill [out] his body and to be extremely cautious in some areas. But you could feel that he was going to make it. The attitude was right and he had a great desire to improve. He was listening and taking on board what you would say to him.

Rob Palmer (commentator): Houllier has probably told you he bigged him up and made his career. But the truth was that at the time, Houllier wasn't big on him. If you do your research and look back, after a while Houllier sent him back [to the academy]. I think he needed some persuading from the academy staff that he was good enough to be part of the first-team. I was the man that was always asking questions in the news conference at the time and I think it'd be fair to say that Gerard took a while to be won over by Stevie G in the very, very early days.

Roberts (fan): Houllier is quite sort of funny in that he always takes the credit for Gerrard. He talks about how he gave him the captaincy -- and he did give him it really young. But it was absolutely no secret that Gerrard was going to make it.

And most of his initial England call up were disrupted by injuries.
