Transfer window nearly upon us

Anyone seen Neto play? Fiorentina will be offloading him this month as he wont sign a new contract.
We are apparantly interested.

That Larsson's caused us enough trouble in the past. Don't mention his name FFS or it really will be him we end up going for.

@TheTotalLFC: Liverpool are considering a move to sign Valencia striker Paco Alcacer, who has £14m release clause in his contract. (Marca)

I can see a lot of clubs going after him if that's really his release clause.

Is that for real?

I think Juventus are interested in signing him in January & I read something about Giovinco going the other way (in a January window deal) ... other option is Juve grab him on a free end of the season.

Our inactivity and lack of strong credible links makes it look like the club has been caught by surprise by a transfer window when it's clear we need to be quick and decisive in this one. It's fucking depressing that people who are paid what Ayre et al get can't get their shit together to have our moves lined up by early January.

If we are going to sign some quality to improve the first team (a big if admittedly) then the difference between doing it now and the end of Jan could be making top 4 or not. At this point it looks like either we're not signing anyone or we're in the middle of bungling up a decent deal (Shaquiri?- although he's not what we really need) and will end up with some stop-gap-crap at the end of the month after being gazumped by Chelsea again.

I'd love it if the club was doing business behind closed doors and a big surprise came through but it doesn't seem to work like that anymore.

Well, we only need a keeper, a CB, an attacking mid and a defensive mid and a striker, so should be a piece of piss.

Well we're clearly not getting Cech, with Schwartzer off to Leicester.

We were never going to get Cech anyway - that was deluded hope on our fans side (self included - because he's exactly what we need).

West Ham United manager Sam Allardyce has revealed that defender Winston Reid is ‘highly unlikely’ to remain at the club beyond this season. The New Zealand international – whose contract expires on June 30 – has attracted interest from Liverpool and Arsenal, who could both make a move for the 26-year-old either in January, or in the summer.

“I would say it’s highly unlikely that Winston is going to sign for us based on what people have said to me,” said Allardyce. According to the Express, Reid would prefer a switch to Merseyside. Reid arrived in East London in 2010 from Danish outfit FA Midtjylland, and has since become a key figure at Upton Park, racking up over 100 league starts for the Premier League club.

He played in West Ham’s 3-1 win over Liverpool last September, and opened the scoring inside two minutes. The Hammers’ 2013 Player of the Year was linked with a move to Anfield in the previous transfer window, but Reds boss Brendan Rodgers opted for Southampton’s Dejan Lovren instead. West Ham recently recruited Canadian centre-back Doneil Henry from Cypriot side Apollon Limassol, perhaps in preparation for Reid’s departure.

Yippee - this sounds like just the sort of thing to get us challenging for the title - a defender from New Zealand.

Does he play on the left hand side?
