[article=http://www.football-italia.net/61470/parma-asked-balotelli]It’s reported that Serie A strugglers Parma asked for Mario Balotelli, but were turned down by the player.

The Ducali are bottom of Serie A with just nine points from their opening 19 games, and are 18 points from Chievo in 17th place.

Balotelli has struggled since moving to Liverpool from Milan, failing to score a single goal in the English Premier League and has been linked with a return to Serie A.

According to Sky, Parma made a sensational attempt to bring the 24-year-old on loan until June, but Balotelli rejected the proposal out of hand.

The news outlet believes a similar offer for Giampaolo Pazzini was also rebuffed.[/article]

What was sensational about it? Did they send the offer over with the Cirque du Soleil?

They meant that Parma are relative minnows and Balotelli is (supposedly) out of their league. He clearly took that view himself, the big scoper.

Mario Balotelli has been every bit as useful to us as Daniel Sturridge this season.

If either were fit enough to play I'd be more concerned at Balotelli's shitness but he's just one of our goal shy, perma-injured strikers.

We need a break regards injuries.

Liverpool FC transfer gossip today sees Brendan Rodgers set to bid for Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette, according to reports in France. The Reds were linked with the hotshot forward before this month’s transfer window, but talk has died down in recent weeks. However, according to French outlet Le10Sport, Rodgers is now ready to table an offer for the in-form 23-year-old, who has hit an impressive 23 goals in as many games for Lyon this term.

Frogfish : Lyon are at or around the top of the league - why would they let him go now ? I'd cream myself if we got this guy but it's not going to be this January if ever.

Manchester United and Liverpool have both made an enquiry for Paraguay starlet Sergio Diaz, according to Italian press. The youngster only turned 16 in December but is touted as one of the world’s top young talents and is currently starring in the South American Under-20 Championship. He started Paraguay’s opening group game against Bolivia and was on the scoresheet in a 4-2 win. Both United and Liverpool have reportedly made contact with Diaz’s current club Cerro Porteno to discuss a possible deal, the report suggests. He is rated at £5.25m. The young forward has eight goals in 20 senior games at club level so far.

Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema Fresh reports in Spain last night suggest Liverpool are set to offer Real Madrid £38.1million to sign Karim Benzema after reportedly ‘going all out’ to sign the striker.

Lazio are reportedly interested in bringing Liverpool forward Mario Balotelli to the Stadio Olimpico on loan. The 24-year-old has endured a frustrating debut season at the Reds and has not started a game for the club since the beginning of November. According to Sport Mediaset, Lazio have made an offer to take him on loan, with the Italy international was not even on the bench for last night’s 1-1 League Cup draw against Chelsea. There has already been contact between Lazio’s president Lotito and Balotelli’s agent Mino Raiola. The capital side want to loan Balotelli while Liverpool cover 30% of the striker’s wages.

Finally, Liverpool and Chelsea have both been given the green light to make a £30m bid for Mauro Icardi. The Serie A giants have opened talks over a new contract for the Argentine striker, but it is thought they have broken down.

Is this the quietest jan transfer window for some years? Even the rumour pages are re-circulating 6 month old news to fill up column inches.

£25million?! Far too expensive, good player though.

Chelsea already made a decent profit on Kevin De Bruyne and now looking to make a profit on Schurrle.

I hear Salah is off on loan somewhere too? Ha, fuck him.

I see Texeira scored twice last night against high-flying Ipswich and by all accounts he has been their bright spark in a struggling Brighton side.

Could we bring him back from his loan, like we did with Ibe?

I would hate to see us lose Texeira like we did with Suso.

I'd keep him there, he's not at the same level as Ibe, Sterling or Suso yet I don't think

Playing games centrally and being the main attacking player will do him good

That's probably right but his true position is in centre holding midfield where I wouldn't say we are over-stocked and he would bring something different off the bench where we currently have Jordan Williams & Rossiter filling that position. Teixeira is above their level of maturity at present by some distance (he was 22 last week).

He has been forgotten a bit this season after a cameo sub performance and the late pass that led to the last second penalty at Fulham that kept our run going last year.

Isn't Teixeira 100% an attacking midfielder?
