Rojo plays his club football as a center back, its only really for Argentina he plays as a left back, presumably he will play as the left sided center back of the 3.

Shite. That's not good. He looked good. I hope it either doesn't happen or he's a bollocks CB/always injured.

Again it's an Irish/British thing. You all like Rojo cos he's tough as nails. That's what we appreciate. but we have to be careful with that..

I say bring in Bony and Et'o. Sell Borini. Then it's a v good window..

Yeah he looked good in the World Cup, very quick.
Shop window performances. For his club he's been pretty poor to the point that before the world cup everyone was saying that argentinas' main weakness is LB. Sporting fans are more than happy to sell. If it was rodriguez I'd be worried.

Isn't he highly rated? 8 million quid reported fee too ...

Christian Atsu is a fantastic little signing for Everton, I hate to say. He's lightning fast and has great dribbling skills. He'll do really well for them.

Really? Lightning fast but no end product.
Not to sure about him tbh.

I just think Martinez will improve him as a player. He has all the physical attributes to be a real menace. Especially coming off the bench as an impact player in much the same way as that Deulofeu kid was.

Could be, Martinez usually gets his transfers right.

He's their replacement for Delufeu (apols for shit attempt at spelling his name).

Good deal for them.

Club confirms (ish) Moreno deal.

Liverpool can confirm they have reached an agreement with Sevilla for the transfer of Spain international full-back Alberto Moreno.

The Reds will proceed with the formalities of finalising the deal for the 22-year-old over the coming days and will make no further announcement until it is complete.

You know, if we eventually manage to sell Borini, Lucas and Assaidi, we'll be pretty much evens in terms of net spend.

It would put us in such a great position to still make a big signing. Expect a quiet 2 weeks as we negotiate the sales, and then I wouldn't rule anything out, but it will I think, unfortunately be around deadline day, if anything big is going to happen.

More on Rojo - apparently he's been suspended, along with a team mate, for submitting a transfer request. Sporting's boss taking a tough stand (well, at least until the price rises further I guess):

[article]Manchester United target Marcos Rojo disciplined by Sporting Lisbon
- Defender sanctioned over reports he refused to train
- Premier League target Islam Slimani also disciplined
- President: ‘There is no player bigger than the club’

Sporting Lisbon have disciplined their defender Marcos Rojo amid reports that he is attempting to force through a move to Manchester United.

United are understood to have made a bid of around £16m for the 24-year-old Argentina international, reportedly prompting Rojo to submit a transfer request and refuse to train.

Sporting’s president, Bruno de Carvalho, has been quoted as saying that both Rojo and his team-mate Islam Slimani, who has been linked with clubs including Newcastle, Leicester City, West Ham and Crystal Palace, are both “subject to strong disciplinary measures” and will not play in the club’s league opener against Academica on Saturday.

De Carvalho, quoted by the Portuguese newspaper Record from an interview with Sporting TV, said: “They will not play next weekend. This will take as long as it takes. If something doesn’t change, you’re going to end up with the players seeing out their contracts.

“They can watch the game on television. On Saturday, against Academica, we will play to win and we will win. There is no player bigger than the club. I would not give up the honour, the club’s history, for the attitudes of anyone.

“I give a piece of advice: don’t use the press, be professional. These two, in defence of our magnificent group, must be removed. They are subject to strong disciplinary measures. Both players have taken decisions that have caused sharp indiscipline at Sporting.

“A message: any player who does not follow the rules of the club can have illusions and pretensions, but with the way these two did things, the situation is just complicated.”[/article]
