Anybody got a statistic of his latest goal scoring record since he's been at LFC? I think the number of goals he scored in the amount of games he has played would be unbelievable.

Derek McGovern.

Simply stunning considering his injury record with us.
Even at his prime Owen would take 4/5 games to get back in his stride after an injury.

Torres take 1/2 games and that sets him apart on a crucial level for us.

Crazy record this season.

He is a genius and Rafa deserves alot of credit for bringing him to Liverpool.

All of Europe's top clubs admired him but Rafa was the one to take the chance and boy has it paid off.

He's ridiculously good.

Selling overrated Fernando Torres for £80m would be the best bit of business any club has ever done

By Derek McGovern 23/03/2010

Fernando Torres made no mistake from the spot at Old Trafford on Sunday - it was just Liverpool's bad luck that there was no ball on it at the time.

Sunday's latest show of petulance from the Spaniard underlines the frustrations at Anfield.

Fans have bemoaned the lack of back-up for Torres and Steven Gerrard, ignoring the fact they have been Liverpool's worst performers this season. It's got my back up.

It's heresy on Merseyside to question Torres. "Look at the goals he scores," you hear Kopites say, while wiping phlegm from your face.

But what have Liverpool won with Torres? For that matter, what did Atletico Madrid win with him? Think back to all those goals Ruud van Nistelrooy scored for Manchester United. Yet in his five years at Old Trafford United won just one championship, one FA Cup, and one League Cup, although Ruud won a seller at Sandown.

Their best Champions League effort during the Van Nistelrooy years was a semi-final in 2002. Yet they'd won the Champions League shortly before he arrived and won it again after he left. They've won the Premier League every year since his departure.

Goal-scorers are worshipped by fans but you don't win trophies unless they contribute elsewhere. Van Nistelrooy never did, nor does Torres.

There's talk that Torres will fetch £80million in the transfer market.

Selling him for that figure will be the best bit of business any club has ever done, apart from the one employing bunny girls.

I would sell him in exchange for one new stadium at Stanley Park. I'll also toss in two reserve players for every 5,000 seats over 55,000. EVERYTHING MUST GO!

Fuck the new Stadium. Torres is more important.
