he looked lively around the box, but as is consistent so far for chelsea, does fuck all in it

He's one injury from finished and he always will be. We paid under the odds for him and we received way over the odds for him.

I think he will struggle until they address problems in midfield. Malouda and Lampard are getting older (out of form too), Essien is perma-injured and Ramires hasn't exactly set the world alight. I just don't see much creativity there to provide consistent service for Torres. They may still bring someone before transfer window closes though.

he played better for chelsea today, he's playing in a very different role than he did with us though, he'll never score as many as he did for us again but he'll be a good player for them

He took his goals really well today and made the difference between Chelsea and Stoke. Turning draws into wins is what makes him worth 50m.

i know. the entire chelsea team are fucking shite, aren't they?

He did look to have a spring in his step and a bit of pace about him which we've not seen for a while but I do wonder if he'll ever be able to create goals out of nothing again like he did so often for us in his first 2 seasons. Thing is , with that price tag and being the main striker in a 3 man front line , he needs to be scoring 25-30 goals this season to be a success .we'll see if he can do that .

He looks like he is going to have a cracking Season. They have the squad to protect him well as well.

The were ineffective because of the midfield three yesterday and Kalou being Kalouless.

On a couple of occassions he even managed to ghost past players like he did so often for us...

Class isn't temporary.

He'll always be a quality player, fitness permitting.

Although I've never seen him play as well for either spain or Chelsea as he did for us and I don't think he ever will. Rafa had a system in place which suited Torres perfectly.

The Chelsea squad, despite it's talent is a bit of a mess.

See Chelsea still look narrow and old. I thought Boas would have tried to make his mark by putting out a different setup.

Very early days but I've got a feeling avb won't have much of a legacy at Chelsea.

In regards to the set up though, it's the hand he's been dealt, more or less- really surprised they didnt go for young, Maya , aguero et al to inject some real dynanisism and pace into their side.

I still find myself drawn to his games hoping to see him have a shocker and get injured, not healthy i know but i can't seem to stop.

Looks far sharper. But one swallow doesn't make a summer. Still hope the cunt snaps his hamstrings

There's not much he can do with that squad - at least not until Roman accepts that it's time to rebuild and backs the manager with money.

They should be there or thereabouts at the end of season, but they're far from the dominant force they once were. Chelsea have lacked width ever since Duff and Robben left. The problem they have now is that the goals from CM have disappeared and they've got a striker who only flourishes with one set-up, which is something Chelsea seem keen to actively ignore.

Chelsea lack creativity and Lampard is no Gerrard.

While he looked sharper than I've ever seen him for the Chavs, he is half the player he was for us. Still a very good striker on his day when he is in the mood.

I get great satisfaction from seeing him miss us more than we do him. Suarez instantly replaced him and it seems a life time ago since he played for us.
