"I've just never seen a player do what he does"

Yes Andy Gray you fucking gormless cunt, he's the only player ever to run quickly down the wing with a football.
Ha.

He was pretty good though.

Haha.

Yeah Ian pretty much summed up my thoughts on why he'll go to United. I don't think Spurs will consistently become one of the big 4, and he'll move to Utd to establish himself as a top star.

Agree about 'Arry.

One of the most dangerous lunges I've seen for quite some time, lifethreatening almost, and what did the ref do? Give Barca a free-kick and leave Valdes to himself. (N'Doye went out like a candle obviously but then managed to get himself together and play the full 90 minutes however impossible it seemed at the time - this incident happened around ten minutes into the game):

Pepe Guardiola at the pre-match press-conference:

- During my 2,5 year as Barcelona-coach I've never faced such a strong physical and intense team.

- My players were completely dead whilst in the dressing-room after the game, deadtired, Guardiola said.

Big cudos to FC København and though Barca obviously is the better team (by some margin) they were lucky to escape with one point really.

'Kinell. That's really nasty!

He should be banned retrospectively for that.

Really? Looks bad but it's not that bad.
I actually believe it's that bad mate. It looks like a combo of an UFC and Kung-Fu challenge and to receive a hit on your chin like that - running straight into it as well - is indeed potentially life threatening.

I hope Valdes gets banned for the rest of the Season.

It was pretty reckless, though nothing in the region of Battiston.
Schumacher's challenge was seemingly more mallicious but didn't he catch Battiston with his elbow? A knee to the head is something else.

Not going into a debate about whether it was reckless enough, the fact he remained on the pitch after showing as little consideration for his opponent as he did was horrendous.

*Got those names mixed around a bit didn't I... :|

You are not seriously saying that this was worse than Schumacher's bludgeon?

Schumacher is now chiefly remembered for that collision; which is sad because he was a goalkeeper I really liked.

Valdes should have at worst been carded for dangerous play.

They were both extremely dangerous and awful challenges. Schumacher's the more mallicious but both were equally dangerous.

What's wrong with you? A yellow card?

Yeah, yellow.

Though admittedly I'd probably be screaming for a red had that been a Liverpool player he hit.

I really hope you are taking the piss here Avvy?

If not then I guess I'll just leave it there.

God that was a nasty knee to the face. Fair play to the player for playing on.

If that was Gerrard who had been KO'd we'd be screaming for Valdez to be shown a red.

He told afterwards that everything hurt from his neck to teeth to an amazing headache and that he couldn't remember what had happened for around five minutes. When he woke up he was just amazed that Barca had been given a freekick.

Apparently though the ref had got his exam at one of Avemenon's ref schools and should've at most shown a yellow card.

Fine.

You wanted to do this?

OK.

You've advocated a SEASON LONG BAN for what was at worst a very very reckless challenge.

I think it was a card offence, though whether it was yellow or red would depend on the situation.

And you've suggested that this tackle was as bad as Schmacher's attempted murder of Battiston.

I'm not sure what other violent play in UEFA or FIFA's history has ever merited a SEASON LONG BAN, but I'd bet it was a lot worse than Valdes' challenge.

A season long ban is not going to happen of course. I just feel disguted when I see incidents like these in football. from Keane's leg-breaker attempt on Haaland to Zidane's headbutting of Materazzi.

It doesn't belong in a game football and I bet that even if you tried you couldn't be more wrong about only wanting to hand out a yellow card on an offense like this one. It really does make you look a bit foolish to say the least.

PS What situation are you refering too if not the one where Valdes flies knee first into his head?
You're right, Kris.

I was foolish in not doing what keniget did.
Yeah Keniget and his snide remarks is a real feat. on here.
You are over reacting here KHL, yes it is a bad challenge but a season long ban is ridiculous.
I am not seriously suggesting a year long ban as it's never going to happen anyways. I just hate it when players are throwing themselves into challenges without any care or consideration for their opponents. And when keepers do it - knee first - it's just even more brutal.

A red card for startes would've been nice.
