Thank god the F1 was decent. The football I did catch in this game was woeful. Chelsea weren't at the races at all.
The F1 was spoilt by the deluge - ruined the race, that twat Verstappen was never winning that. Norris was on for the win - now it's all over. A stain on the weekend.

Interestingly, Forest on 3rd made our start even more impressive. We lost points with that blip against Forest and a draw against Arsenal. Our challengers will have to play Forest who seems to be punching well above their weight this season.

Opinions.. everyone has one.

Personally I thought it was one of the best days (quali and race) of the season.

Credit to Max (and i dislike him as much as the next non-redbull fan), the way he sliced through the field from 17th to 6th was world class by lap 4 or 5.

Then McLaren and Mercedes inexplicably fucked up their strategy. Everyone could see a red flag potentially coming. Until its green there why pit?

So it was a mix of sublime driving and luck. But as soon as he was in clean air, he dropped Ocon too.

Definitely not a ruined race by the rain, remember Max had a new engine. If there's a track that rewards that more than most, it's Interlagos. He'd have recovered the drive to top 5 or so anyway.

Anyway. It was much better than the football yesterday.

Outstanding second half. That’s what you get with Ange, for all the weakness’s his approach brings it can also dismantle even a side as good as Villa have been this season.

Suddenly one win off third.

Its funny that for all the attacking football shit that get labelled with Ange they scored more goals under Conte, took more points and conceded less goals. They get more «mate» now though, thats true.

Max ran the inters into the ground to reach the top 6 and once he put on new boots he would’ve taken the rest of them. He just knew more than anyone where the grip was. That was a performance for the ages.

Missed this, and just posted in the 'spicy boy' thread.

In the context of the championship, Max at P17 and Lando P1, it was an all time great drive by Max. He was keeping his car on the track when everyone else was sliding off (Lando x 3, Charles, George, Lewis, Sainz all going off). When Lando pitted, Max was 12 seconds behind, and ended up 31 seconds ahead (with another SC in there too).

He had the pace to get a podium if it was completely unaffected by a red flag, and based on the rest of the race, Lando wouldn't have stayed on the track enough to hold on to second either.

I loved the race, it gave us increased diver skill (and lack of), demonstration of bravery / mentality and something very different from the norm. No DRS either so every overtake was done on pure pace + skill.

It was definitely up there with some of the drives from Lewis, Schumacher and Senna of yesteryear for sure.

The wet sorts the men from the boys.
