Time wasting

I make a distinction between time wasting to finish a game and time wasting from the start. You don't. It's a Sunday, you're clearly bored, but you're just wasting my time and everyone else's. I think tomorrow you'll read back your posts (and the ones and phrases you've cribbed from other people - now that's REALLY lazy) and feel a bit foolish. But that's it tonight. I've said all I need to say. Ignored.

Time wasting has more to do with the psychological aspect of the game than actually wasting time. More often than not the time wasted gets added on so you do get it back, but the frustration and the panic that builds up because of it can't be compensated.

We had a good 80+ minutes of play to beat them and we didn't.

Think of all the ads they could squeeze in by stopping the clock for set length of times. A throw in? A quick 10 seconds ad. Ball disappeared into the crowd and the ball boy had fallen asleep? 15 seconds to sell some Budweiser.

I only notice time wasting when my team is effected.

Otherwise I regard Liverpool trying to run down the clock as highly professional.

Indeed. The only thing about time-wasting that gets my goat is when referees tap their watches as if to say "I'm on to you, sunshine" but then do naff all about it. If you're going to penalise it, make a proper job of doing so - otherwise just don't ******* bother.
