We are so much better a team, and play so much better football, without Carroll on the pitch. Suarez works really well with Downing & Kuyt (even though the later didn't have a brilliant game he had a good one).

Skrtel played a blinder - loved his 1-2 in the Bolton box, unlucky not to set up a goal. Was he pointing at Coates after he scored 😉

Very pleased for Henderson - that should raise his confidence no end.

Adam had an excellent game ... but should never be allowed to run with the ball, he must surely be the slowest player on our books !

We should have won this by 6 or 7. Very silly mistake by Carra at the end.

Lucas was superb.

I'm really worried about Carroll. As I've said before our play seems to break down whenever it's played in to him. I just don't see how he improves our team.

Can't wait to see Stevie's interplay with Suarez & Downing !

That's a bit over the top IMO. The side which finished 2nd in the league in 2008-09 was well better.

Good start to the season but it's early days and there's a lot I'm still uncomfortable about.

I can only imagine how good we would look when Johnson is back on that side.

If Coates can live up to the hype and Lucas can perform like this in every game, we will walk away with the title....easily...

We have finally got a good group of players!
 
It was lovely watching us pass the ball around quick 1-2's, Lucas was ace..Suarez was also ace but needs to be happy the team won and not so damn gutted he didnt score (thats what it looked like to me)..

RE Carroll, I don't care..United/Chelsea/City have a gazillion pound bench I'm happy we have a player who can come on and change things if we need him to..if it means he stays on the bench for a few games I'm ok with that.

Stevie, Ming and Magic to come back from injury.

Thats another 3 points in the bag, lets look to continue this next game.
Last season it took us 9 games to get to 7 points!! bloody hell

Where to start?

I loved Pepe's response to conceding the goal.

Back four is rock solid and Kelly's injury, unfortunate as it was, showex our improved strength in depth. Enrique looks like he's been a Liverpool full-back for years.

In the middle, Lucas and Adam ran the game. Seriously, where does Stevie fit in?

Downing is living up to all of my expectations, if not to Ryan's. Lovely little flicks, rarely gives posession away and great delivery. Henderson was fantastic today. He does the simple things well and like Downing, his delivery was first class. The goal will do him the world of good. He's going to be a big player for us, I'm sure of it.

Kuyt was back on today, no doubt about it. Great industry as always and he deserved a goal. He has a great understanding with Luis. If Kuyt plays, it has to be up top and it has to be instead of Carroll, rather than wide in place of Henderson.

Luis...not much more to say is there?

No we won't, chill out..we played well.
We still need to see how City and United shape up and Chelsea.
I certainly think we should be pushing up there with them, but it wont be easy

With Stevie and Magic coming in for Adam and Kelly I think our team goes up another gear going forward. Excellent display today and really pleased for new guys, Downing Enrique Adam and Henderson were all top class today. Todays line up should be the basis of our team for the rest of the season

As a right-sided attacking midfielder, in place of Henderson, drifting in behind Suarez and making passes and runs into the area. Stevie's gonna be ace in that team.
