Well the seasons not over!

If you're going to make a charitable donation there's only one place I can suggest, The More Burgers for Rosco Fund.

Or: http://www.contrast.org/hillsborough/helpus.shtm

Done - with love !

Sidebar: I've never seen a players turn from the dizzy heights to such low standards in such a shirt space of time. Was sheva's fall as fast?

Owen was pretty much the same. Their game was always built around that explosive early burst, the second they get successive injuries they're fucked. Couple that with a largely poor and selfish attitude and you ain't got much.

I was onto this with Torres about 18 months before he left us.

That's true, but I think pace is less of an issue with Torres than it was with Michael Owen. Torres was known for being able to score all manner of goals, which wasn't true with Owen. This is why I'm surprised Torres declined has mirrored Owen's so closely. Torres hasn't only lost pace, he's lost an immaculate first touch, upper body strength, his heading ability, a general knack for knowing how to put a chance away - right now he doesn't even seem to sense it is a chance until it's too late.

Someone got me a signed pic of Torres celebrating his first goal against Madrid when we twatted them at Anfiled. You'll all know the pic. Anyways, it's not my thing all this hero worship but it looked good and matched the decor so I stuck it up in the back room. When he handed in his transfer request I went out and got completely pissed and when I came in at like 5 in the morning I picked up a mug that was on the table and launched it at the picture. From like three feet away. And completely missed.

I'd like to think that this ritual is the reason for his terrible form ever since. I think it was actual magic. You can thank me in any way you see fit.

I wonder what setting fire to it would do? I mean if wiki'd a proper voodoo ritual or something?

For anyone that hasn't read the start of the thread I feel this is worth pointing out, my bet with Froggie was for considerably less than £100 - which is what he just donated to the HJC.

Very decent of you mate.

Not only did you win the bet but you get all the 'likes'.

Game, Set & Match to you.

How was that date ever picked for a tax year end I wonder?

Dates back to when Britain very belatedly adopted the Gregorian calendar in 1752 which involved adding 11 days to the date. The tax year had originally been based on the old New Year's Day which was 25th March. To avoid losing tax revenue, the Government added 11 days to 25th March resulting in the new tax year starting on 6th April.

So what did you do with the 11 new days?

It used to be said that when they moved the calendar forward by 11 days, the peasants rioted all around the country, because they thought they had been cheated of 11 days of their lives. I was going to point that out, but I usually check my facts before posting, and sadly this Wikipedia article says that the stories of riots are probably a myth. 🙁 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Calendar_%28New_Style%29_Act_1750
