The not so Official January Transfer Rumour Thread

I believe it was 6.5/7 mill. if we can get that back, then that wouldn't be too bad.
We should try and sign Dragovic from Basel, he is a good up coming CB and wouldn't be too expensive.
Red Star Belgrade have a young defender called Nikola Maksimovic, who's supposed to be bit of a beast. Any idea?

Don't know too much about him, got a Serbian mate who supports red star and seems to rate him. Similar to Vidic but younger. Wouldn't be a bad gamble (kinda like Nastasic/Savic).
Abit off topic, other good young players we should be looking at are: Juan Quintero, Kurt Zouma, Marco Van Ginkel, Filip Duricic, Adam Maher, just to name a few. These would all tie in with the money ball approach. The Erdevise has some serious potential, especially with midfielders and with Gerrard at 32, we should be looking at his replacement.

Never heard of the others but those three are going to be excellent and at less than half the price of Eriksen . Rumours of a Newcastle bid for Wilfried Bony of 12m pounds - I wish we were in for him .

Quintero plays for Pescara in Serie A, is their best player at age 19. Zouma is a CB from st.ettiene (I think he's 18), comfortable on the ball and strong. Plays like a man rather than a kid his age.

I was speaking to a couple of Brum season ticket holders about Butland. They really rate him. He is prone to occasional mistakes though but is still only young and can iron those lapses out of his game.

Butland was impressive in the Olympics and I'd be happy to see us sign him. Brum are sent too so we should be able to get him for a decent price and he will benefit from keep playing for the rest of the season.

If there's one thing I'm becoming increasingly certain of, it's that this is Reina's last season for us.

May be posted on here but Insua transfer to A Madrid, good on the lad.
Struggled here when first broke into the team but thought when he came back from Galastsary on loan he looked better and would have been good backup.
Nice record Sporting, 6 goals and 8 assists, one of those few players who left us and upped his game.

Emiliano Insua: Is on his way to Atletico Madrid
Sky Bet

Atletico Madrid have agreed a deal to sign former Liverpool left-back Emiliano Insua from Sporting Lisbon.
The second-placed team in the Primera Division are looking at strengthening their squad in an effort to stay in the upper reaches of the league, and the former Liverpool

and Galatasaray man Insua

is who head coach Diego Simeone has turned to fortify his defence, with the 24-year-old needing only to pass a medical before the deal is completed.
Atletico announced on their website that Insua would be joining them.
The Spanish club said in a statement: "Atletico Madrid

and Sporting of Portugal have reached an agreement for the transfer of Emiliano Adrian Insua to the 'red and whites'.
"The Argentinian full-back will sign for the rest of the season and three more once he has passed the medical."
Insua joined Liverpool from Boca Juniors as a teenager in January 2007 but after being unable to hold down a regular place in the first team at Anfield he was allowed to join Galatasaray on loan in 2010.
That did not develop into a proposed permanent move, but Sporting Lisbon stepped in to take him to Portugal in summer 2011.
He has been capped by Argentina

and had established himself as a regular in the Sporting side over the past 18 months.

Gremio director Rui Costa has denied reports linking them with a move for Liverpool defender Sebastian Coates. Costa speaking to UOL said of any move for Coates: "You can forget that, just forget it."

No shit.

Twitter rumours of Samba leaving Russia and heading back to England.

He'd give us physical presence at the back.

Hasn't said anything so doubt there is any truth in the rumor. Besides, surely we can do better that big lumbering oaf who happens to be excellent in the air?

I just want someone fucking solid! I'd fancy MY chances of roughing up this Liverpool team.
