The not so Official January Transfer Rumour Thread

I think we are in for quite an interesting 4-5 days. Loving it that Countinho seems all but sewn up. Draxler seems like a good option as well. Anyone follow the Bundesliga care to elaborate on him a bit? Cheers.

2 things I'm confused about:

1) Llorente on a free? As in, like, the Spanish Fernando Llorente? The one who scores loads of goals? The one who (if I remember rightly) quite a few people wanted to sign? Why weren't we on this?

2) The Tongue - I can't shake the notion this is a massive conspiracy whoosh. The guy has 3 posts. Is this like the time Oncy started the Drogba rumour, or is this genuine?

What's he been like since his injuries a little while back?
His erectile disfunction is on the wane but his face lift unfortunately didn't come off, still Wenger's not complaining after all it's Arsenal's transfer kitty that he's using for his free pass.

One of the main reasons I used to lurk on RAWK was because The Tongue used to post his itk updates there. He ended getting fucked off because people started getting on his back and doubting him so he disappeared for awhile. Glad to see he'a back on twitter. As far as I know he is the genuine article - He definitely called the Torres deal way before anyone else. The Alonso to Real deal as well if I recall.

I've never found Draxler very impressive. He's also the same age (albeit with a bit more experience) as Suso, so I'm not sure what sense it makes to bring him in. He's not going to come straight into the line-up and make a significant impact. There's as much left in his development as there is in Suso's so I'd really not be in favour of brining someone like him in. The only way I'd want to bring in a young player in Suso's position is if he's already past the initial development curve and can come straight into the team and make a difference - basically someone like Eriksen or Djuricic.

Coutinho doesn't come into this discussion as I don't see him as an AM. He's far more likely to play as a winger IMO.

Capped three times by Germany and has been a regular in the quite strong Schalke side for two years now. I haven't seen him enough to judge but Schalke fans seem to rate him very highly. Draxler has also played more as a winger for them hasn't he? Why do you think he wouldn't be ready to come into the team and be an improvement over what we currently have?

I would love us to sign him if only because of him being a young German international. Can't see it happening but I'm glad we are even trying.

He was on TLW for a while too. He's just about the only itk out there with a near 100% strike rate.

Good enough for me.

@LFC_Tongue: LFC have upped bid to £11m. Take it or leave it ultimatum to Schalke. Looking unlikely. FSG being prudent. Days of LFC being fleeced over.

Unlikely indeed. They will lose Holtby in the summer so fans would be furious if they now sold Draxler. Interesting though.

The term you used was "sown up", that is incorrect as the popular term is "to sew up" derived from the act of sewing (i.e. needle pulling thread); the past participle of the verb "to sew" is "sewn" so it should have been "sewn up". The word you used, "sown", is the past participle of the verb "to sow" which means to plant seads (as in "you reap what you sow") - unless you derived it from the noun "sow" meaning female pig, but then that would be worse as past participles are a derivation of a verb & not a noun.

I just thought if yer man could correct the misuse (or non use) of an apostrophe left, right & center then I could point out the incorrect use of the langauge in general

😉

@LFC_Tongue: Draxler not a fall back option if Coutinho deal fell through. Club want both. Coutinho imminent, Schalke looking for £16m for Draxler.....
geeeet innnnnnnn .This tongue guy speaks sweet tasty talk.He is well informed of the ins and outs of all things LFC related .

I can't work out if Tom brown is doing an impression of someone really boring or.... You know... He just is...
