The not so Official January Transfer Rumour Thread

I've never found Draxler very impressive. He's also the same age (albeit with a bit more experience) as Suso, so I'm not sure what sense it makes to bring him in. He's not going to come straight into the line-up and make a significant impact. There's as much left in his development as there is in Suso's so I'd really not be in favour of brining someone like him in. The only way I'd want to bring in a young player in Suso's position is if he's already past the initial development curve and can come straight into the team and make a difference - basically someone like Eriksen or Djuricic.

Coutinho doesn't come into this discussion as I don't see him as an AM. He's far more likely to play as a winger IMO.

@LFC_Tongue: Draxler not a fall back option if Coutinho deal fell through. Club want both. Coutinho imminent, Schalke looking for £16m for Draxler.....

From that Macca lad:

It looks like Coutinho is done and as i said early Ince himself believes the deal is pretty much done..

Hope the info turns out to be correct..

Also by all accounts Coates has no future at the club and maybe a centre half will be signed..

Cheers

He called the Torres-to-Chelsea move before anybody, as I recall.

He got a load of shit about that as well.

Rodgers, meanwhile, is reluctant to let either Sebastian Coates or Jack Robinson leave Anfield on loan. The defenders have rarely figured this season but Rodgers does not feel he can allow them to go elsewhere.

‘They need to get out but unfortunately it may well be that they don't go out,’ said Rodgers. ‘The needs of the group is the most important thing.’
