Although the signing of Sturridge and potentially Ince and Coutinho are really great signings for the club and the future, im genuinely worried about the lack of aggression and fight in our team.
I dont mean thuggery, just will to win and will to not be steamrollered. These defeats against shit teams like Oldham and Villa are a real worry. All the tippy tappy in the world isnt going to stop a team forcing their will upon us if we lack heart and fight.
I really think we could do with a bully or two to compliment all these fucking princesses we have.
Failing that I would definately get Carragher back in the team.

Correct, we need an imposing centre back who will get us organised and we need a similar style midfielder too, someone who will stamp their authority on the game.

The problem is that Mr Rodgers (and a lot of other young coaches) thinks that all you have to do to emulate Barcelona is fill your team up with little whispy fuckers who can trap the shit out of a falling ball and love playing in triangles. What they fail to grasp is that Barcelona have plently of steel to go with that subtlety. Sure they fucking lay down all over the place but you have players like Puyol and Pique who would cut you in half, Alves is hard as nails, Busquets and Mascherano will clean a player out, yes you have the odd fairy in their line up like Pedro and Sanchez, but the likes of Xavi and Iniesta would snide you all day long like a young Scholes. Even Messi loses his shit once in a while. Our team is full of cunts who'd apologise if they caught you banging their missus.
We've sacrificed steel and brawn for (alleged) brains and talent but id rather face a team full of Allens all day long than a team full of Kuyts or Bellamys.
Barcelona are what they are because they work like fuck and can do the nasty and the nice. We'll win our share of games this way but we'll take a pasting or two along the way.

Not only do we need an impposing CB or combative midfielder - but one of these 2 needs to be good enough to be the next Liverpool Captain as I don't see anyone capable of filling that void when Gerrard 7 Carragher finish up.
I like what Rodgers is doing, to an extent, but our next major signings need to be our Roy Keane or Patrick Viera moment - the player that manges to pull togther all the elements of the team on the pitch sndf make them effective.
I absolutely do not expect this to be sorted in this transfer window.

Agreed. Agger and Skrtel both look to me to have slimmed down a bit and are less of a presence than they used to be.
The Agger that terrorised Drogba a few season ago doesn't seem to exist any more.
I'd rather have average players who show a will to win than slightly above average players who give up when the going gets tough.

It's a pretty sweeping condemnation of our midfield when we are desperate for an AM, and desperate for a DM. I'm all for more strength in depth, but these are positions we've devoted a lot of money toward. In addition, the fact that there is such interest in a DM speaks volumes about just how confident everyone is in Lucas, who looked for some to be cementing his role in the side.
