Oh well, let's hope his fantastic injury record reemerges next week.
I think its bollocks. I phrased my post wrong so it seems like that after the match the tweet said he'd never play for arsenal again.

It was actually before the match..

Ahhhh.. Arsenal and Wenger will get some stick for this, it's one thing losing a couple of players to City, it's something else losing their best player to their biggest Premiership rival (as it's been over the last 15 years or so anyway).

So
Ramirez
Dempsey
Sahin
Walcott
CB
Allen
Borini

for

Maxi
Aquilani
Kuyt
Bellamy
Agger
Carroll

What would we think?

Obviously losing Agger would be a massive blow, but if we replaced him with godin, we should be ok.

I'd say that would be a very successful window. Replacing a lot of high paid older players with young players.

Apologies if already been touched upon but has anyone actually seen this Godin chap play?

All I remember is he's not the biggest of defenders hence probably not a beast in the air?

It'd be a better window than I was expecting but it looks like we're still missing an attacker of genuine quality unless Ramirez proves to be a masterstroke.

Perhaps I'm being a little unrealistic but I was kinda hoping that we'd try and unearth another Suarez somehow.

Yeah that does seem shamelesly unrealistic.

I am completely with you.

Do it, Brendan.

I know he is a different style of attacker but from the little I have seen of him I have high hopes for Borini

Walcott would be brilliant for us. People go mad about Sterling (rightly so), yet Walcott is basically a better and older version of him.

Unearth a new Suarez? There's plenty of Suarezes out there. We just prefer Walcott's.
We should be all over Jovetic or Belhanda.

I do wonder about Belhanda's availability. It'll be interesting to see whether his form continues along an upward trend and whether anyone takes a punt on him.

Ramirez falls into a similar category of promising young attacking midfielder though, so he could prove to be very good. It's just that I know very little about him and from what I've seen and read it's hard to be too encouraged.

Not convinced, mate. Walcott's not kicked on at the Arse like he should have done, and (if the media are to be believed) still reckons he should be playing centrally when he just doesn't have the tricks to make room for himself in there. I think I'd sooner stick with Sterling and develop him.

I don't know what to expect from Ramirez. I've seen two or three Bologna games and he looked great. But I'm worried that he won't cope with the fast paced game that is played in England. Or he just has to adapt, quickly.

Do you think (and i have no idea) that Suarez new signing has anything to do with his mate coming in?
I mean surely Suarez would know how good he is?

Entirely possible IMO, just as I expect he had some influence on the signing of Coates. As long as we're satisfied these players are good enough in themselves, it makes sound sense to sign people whom our best player knows and can recommend.

Former Liverpool hero could make Premier League return

Top Premier League clubs have been put on high alert as reports in Spain suggest Xabi Alonso's time at Real Madrid could be coming to an end.
The midfielder's contract with the Spanish champions runs until 2014, but Barcelona paper Sport claims he has decided to resist advances from Real to extend his deal for an additional two years.
Accoring to the paper, Alonso would be willing to listen to offers from clubs next summer, with Serie A champions Juventus thought to be leading the pack of interested parties.
But should the Spanish international become available, the Italian giants would face plenty of competition for his signature, particularly among clubs in England where he was such a success during his days at Liverpool.

Well he already sold out going to Madrid. Man Utd would be nothing for him.
In the case of Alonso I don't think it's fair to lay the blame entirely on him. He was being frozen out of the club for years and then eventually gave the club what it wanted.

And Madrid is not exactly Manchester or London so he's hardly 'sold out' has he?
