According to Turkist press, he rejected Besiktas' offer of 3yr contract on reduced terms worth €2m a yr. Has a yr left on his current contract and the club are looking to recoup as much of the €7m they paid for him as possible. Latest offer for him came from Anzhi at €4m.

Wonder if he might be one of the loan players Rodgers was talking about.

Amen to that. Beardo was one of those players who, as well as being top quality individually, helped the whole team play better around him. He should have completed his career with us IMO.

I always wondered how much of that transfer had to do with his wife's supposed 'off-field activities'.

Always thought Quaresma was an overrated twat.

Will never forget the "I'll make The Kop cry" statement he made either.

Neets on the move

Ajax hopeful of keeping Anita

Ajax's director of football, Marc Overmars, has reiterated the club are keen to keep hold of reported Newcastle United target Vurnon Anita.

Anita, 23, revealed in July she is open to a move to the Premier League, with Newcastle said to be monitoring her situation. Reports on Sunday claim the Magpies are set to lodge a £7.5 million bid for the Netherlands international, but Overmars is hopeful she will remain at Ajax.
Overmars is quoted in The Lying Rag as saying: "We don't want to lose Vurnon."

Couple of other sites saying Bellamy has gone. Shame, although I can understand it if he wants the move himself.

Idiotic decision to let him go. Still has so much more to offer.

We'd be losing a pacy, skillful, selfless, experienced footballer who fights like fuck in every game. I really don't get it.

Maybe he wants to go Gary, maybe he hasn't even gone.

Think the Times reported last week that Rodgers wants to keep him while Bellers wants the move.
If I remember correctly his family still lives there.

Papers (D. Mail) making up stories about Ashley Williams being Agger's replacement.

Liverpool Target Cristian Tello Left Out of Barcelona First Team Squad

Barcelona have announced their first team squad for the upcoming season and there was one glaring omission as Cristian Tello was not handed a squad number, despite having a superb debut season under former boss Pep Guardiola.
The 20-year-old made 22 appearances for Barcelona in all competitions last season and was even handed the chance to impress in the Champions League, which he grabbed with both hands by scoring two goals on his European debut against Bayer Leverkusen.
His performances caught the attention of a number of clubs from around Europe, including Premier League side Liverpool who were repeatedly linked with the attacking midfielder earlier this summer.

Liverpool were able to watch Tello in recent weeks as he was a member of the Spain squad that suffered great disappointment at the London Olympics as they were knocked out of the tournament without scoring a single goal.
However, these performancess are unlikely to discourage clubs from showing an interest in Tello who scored three league goals in 15 league appearances for Barcelona last season.
Spanish newspaper Marca has reported that Tello has not received a squad number, with new manager Tito Vilanova instead giving the opportunity to Martinn Montoya, Marc Bartra, Jonathon dos Santos and Marc Muniesa from the youth squad.
Tello may now be considered for the Barcelona B team but there were suggestions that he would consider his future if he was not considered part of the first team squad.
With the return from injury of Ibrahim Afellay and the impressive form of Isaac Cuenca, it seems there is no place for Tello who does have just one year remaining on his contract at the Camp Nou.
Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is still in the process of improving his squad and has thus far just managed to sign one player in striker Fabio Borini.
The Reds have been heavily linked with a number of midfielders, but they are desperate to find some width on the right-hand side of midfield after Dirk Kuyt was allowed to leave the club and Jordan Henderson, who played in the position last season, is seen more as a central midfielder.

We certainly need a new 'Christian' at the club after the last ones unconvincing showings.

Tello would suffice.

Read that our loan targets are Tello, Callejon and Afellay.

Someone said Tello hasnt been given a squad nr this season. Would be a great signing.

I got a PM from Vantage today.

He said Atletico are interested in Tello according to his sources

I wonder if Warrior are happy - didn't they just appoint Craig as an ambassador?
