Interesting to see some of the odds being quoted (all are favs to sign):

Walcott - Evens to come to Liverpool
Carroll - 8/13 West Ham
RvP - 11/8 United and 13/8 Juventus
Owen - 4/7 to Stoke
Xabi - 4/1 Liverpool
Hulk - 1/4 Chelsea
Agger - 4/5 Citeh
Zagoev - 7/4 Spurs
Adam Johnson - 5/4 Liverpool
Ba - 2/1 Rubin Kazan
Kaka - 4/7 AC Milan
Adam - 3/1 Fulham
Cavani - 5/2 Chelsea
Bellamy - 1/3 Cardiff
Dzeko - 2/5 AC Milan
Modric - 1/6 Real Madrid

might be on here already but Spurs bidding £7 million for Raheem just flashed up on my phone.

No way

We should be all over Dzagoev. But we won't be. And we'll sign Stephen Hunt for the same amount of money.

It's early days however has Brendan Rodgers shown any indication thus far that he's interested in over paying for limited players?

TOTTENHAM are lining up a £12.5million bid for CSKA Moscow forward Alan Dzagoev, according to reports.

The Russia international scored three goals at Euro 2012 to become one of the stars of the tournament, despite his country's poor performance.

And Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas is thought to have lined up the 22-year-old as a replacement for wantaway star Luka Modric.

Rivals Arsenal were also thought to be interested in Dzagoev, but their pursuit of Malaga's Santi Cazorla should leave the way clear for Spurs to snap up the Russian.

According to the Echo, Rodgers wants Bellamy to stay but he's interested in a return to Cardiff

just saw that blackpool want heskey who's on free. He's 34 now . Doesn't feel at all like he played 223 games for us and scored 60 goals . He's got to be right up there on the list of non-scoring strikers who made a career for themselves .

Decent signing for a Championship team though. If they have someone else to score the goals mind.

I don't think he would hit double figures at any professional level anymore.

62 English caps.
sixtyfuckingtwo

He had frightening potential when he was young. I remember Shearer waxing lyrical about what an easy time he'd had after Heskey destroyed none other than the Argie defence when England played them in a friendly at Wembley back then.

when i was looking up his stats , i noticed that he's scored an average of 4 goals per season over the last 7 with a best total of 8. It's quite amazing that he's managed to keep a premier league career with that stat and also that so many managers rate so highly the off the ball stuff he supposedly does . I mean he was even starting games at World Cup 2010 !! .

I remember when we bought him for 11 million. I had such high hopes for him. I don't think their are many other players who have disappointed me more. He really was fucking useless at times. I remember his hat-trick against Derby I think - That was boss. I also remember his fresh air shot against the scummers. For such a massive unit he used to fall over all the time. I seem to recall it was good business when we sold him. Maybe for 7 million?

It's worth saying though as a bloke he seemed a good guy. I think he helped save Leicester City from administration with a massive charity donation.

I'll always have a soft spot for Heskey. Great start to his career with us. He'd make a fascinating case study in career development for someone like Rosco who likes that stuff.

Not really.

He's the very lower end of the Torres, Owen, Fowler category. Played at high level from age 17, was effectively passed his best by the middle of his twenties.

That's true, but unlike Owen and Fowler, Heskey had as physique that allowed him to adapt his game significantly, which ensured he was still useful to Premier League teams.

And Fowler had tremendous insticts and finishing ability to fall back on when he slowed up so he could still contribute as even we saw when he returned.

Owen only ever had pace. Torres has more than Owen in his locker but he's still half of what he was.

I've always liked Heskey.
Worked hard, was sometimes played in an unfamiliar position.
Never moaned, never said anything bad about the club.

That's true up to a point I reckon. Owen had way more than just pace. The best ever though was Fowler.

With a bit of effort.... Andy Carroll could be the new Emile Heskey.

Messi scored 72 goals last season. 6 more than Heskey has scored in the last 10 seasons.

Eat my stat.
