I wonder. I like Bellers and, in an ideal world, would prefer to keep him, but he faded away quite a bit last season after starting off in tip-top form. If that's going to happen again, a £2 mill.profit wouldn't be bad business IMO.

I wouldn't like to see him go.

He's looked good in the Olympics and we've already cut loose Kuyt and Maxi. You have to draw a line somewhere.

Keepers generally do, they're peak age on average is a bit later than that of a defender. Going off countless cases and not just that of Joe Hart.

Players often get better with age, I know that goes against your brilliant philosophy, but they do, it's called EXPERIENCE.

Average players get better with age, good an great ones don't.

And your wrong about goalkeepers, watch Pepe over the next few years as your proof.

Like I said, it's not the rule for everyone, dependent on a lot of things. Reina has his build going against him for starters. Like with alot of subjects we've discussed lately, it shouldn't be a clear rule, because all players are different and develop, decline and behave differently. Having a philosophy is fine, sticking to it stringently is falling into the same traps you're fighting against.

Spanish international Santi Cazorla is due to fly into London this week for a medical with Arsenal, Sky Sports understands.
The Malaga midfielder wants to quit the troubled club - whose Qatarian owners are looking to sell.
Despite a takeover looking likely, Cazorla is pressing for his sale to go through and he looks set to get his wish.
A deal worth around €22million (£17.3million) looks set to be agreed between the two clubs.
The player's representatives have already held talks with Arsenal and they are happy with the proposed deal on offer at the Emirates.
Malaga paid €19million to Villarreal just 12 months ago, but they have huge unpaid debts of around €40million which need settling this week.
Talks with Albanian oil company Taci have broken down and, whilst there is Russian and Middle East interest, the deal to sell Cazorla looks like it is needed to help sort out their current mess.
Sky Sports understands that Cazorla should be in England within the next 48 hours to conclude a deal, which would be a major coup for Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger.
The 27-year-old, a regular in Spain's all-conquering international squad, helped Malaga into the top four in La Liga last season.

could be a very good signing and a decent window for them (podolski & giroud also ) even if they lose van persie .

I'd love for us to be after cazorla , think he could do a great job for us . But why would you pay £17m on him when you can pay £20m on downing.

i haven't seen him many times but i was pretty underwhelmed the times i did. Didn't seem anything special at all.

Bellars for 2M is a steal for Cardiff. I like the lad but he hardly played and is probably on high wages. A swansong season for his homwtown club is a great way to go out.

Hopefully Bellers remembers that he can help his school in Sierra Leone a lot more with the wages he can pick up here, and will see out the final year of his contract. He can join as a free-agent for his hometown club for his swansong season after that.

His wages are a "problem" only because he was criminally underused in the league last season. For all the talk about needing to protect him, he's shown that he could play 3 games in 7 days for Team GB. I'm not saying he should've played at the same clip for us, but certainly he could've and should've played more minutes than the 12 starts and 15 sub appearances in the league (6 goals, 3 assists). In contrast, Mr Zero-zero had 28 starts and 8 sub appearances.

I thought we'd make a play for Sahin on loan, especially with the Rodgers/Mourinho love-in.

He'll be a star.

And Cazorla is quality. Fuck it.

Two very good signings. But as long as Wenger doesnt adress the defensive issues then they still doesnt look that strong.

They'll lose their main striker who scored about 40% of their goals. Either Podolski or Giroud have to hit theground running, or both for that matter.

But they'll be around 3rd / 4th again. Breaking in to the top 4 is probably as hard as it ever has been. Chelsea have spent a fortune and will be up there. City and Utd are a given.
Newcastle and Spurs will push for 5/6th.
Its tough as fuck.
We're in line for 5-7th imho, if we dont pull some absolute gems out of the hat. Anything else is unrealistic.

You do have to wonder if the club gives its players a list of targets they should mention as wanting them at Barca. Tippy-tappy cunts.

Sky Italia reporting that Inter are close to signing Lucas Moura - a player United have been trying to sign for the past month or so.

I hope he signs for Inter and turns out to be world claaaaaarsh.
