The not confirmed, it's really only a rumour transfer thread ;Summer 2012

That we are not spending money on some our problem positions like out wide.

That dempsey is a target.

That we are skint.

That other teams ahead of us are strengthening

But the system doesn't need proper wingers
It needs players good at cutting in.

Dempsey does that. If the fee isn't extortionate and the wages are reasonable then we'll be grand

If half of that is true ill be content

BR system had sinclair and dyer, players with pace who could do that job with good effective.

All I am saying is I would have liked too see a Theo/Johnson/Muniarn type player.

Muniain.

And we were never going to spend 20m+ on a single player

Walcott may not be out the question yet, and johnson is a bit overhyped.

So if that posters source is correct, you would be content with our summer transfer dealings?

Well i'd be happy with Allen and Borini, but i'd agree with you regarding Dempsey. It also says that we will be looking at a few other players for different positions, so "if" this is close to the truth, then yeah i'd be content enough with it.

Load of bollocks mate.

If so, we would have to agree to disagree on this one.

This is it though. The post actually states that Rodgers doesn't think a winger/wide forward is a necessity, unless we sell someone, then it becomes an option, right now because of his system, I think it basically means it's not the end of the World right now if we don't, because he clearly has a front three in mind of Dempsey/Suarez/Borini. If we get the money then we can buy a quality 4th player to add to the mix, if we don't, well we have Cole/Sterling/Pacheco and (unfortunately) Downing as backup. Allen is quality, the rest is just about all we need, it's not like we need an overhaul, providing we keep the back five, we need cover for left back and a keeper (arguably). The main position people were talking about was the wide roles, but that was in the assumption we'll be playing wingers, it seems we'll be playing wide forwards, the play is going to be more compact so the system is different.

I still think we'll bring in someone else, probably who can play wide, of real quality, but anyway. It's all conjecture, we have a good base of players. The play itself needs tweaking, the system needs implementing and we need a couple of players. That's all.

FSG backed Kenny/Damien, I would have hoped they have done the same to Brendan.

Instead we are loosing out to Spurs for players.

Yeah, spurs who finished 2 places above us

How very dare players go to a team who isn't us

We don't have the money we had last season, that much is obvious. I don't know why you seem to think they should keep throwing money at us, they've been stung, by and large, so far. As for Sigurdsson, fuck him. And we're not 'losing out to Spurs for playerS, we went head to head with them for the lad and didn't go above our valuation. So what? You do like to fucking moan.

Seriously?

If we had the money we had least season we would have signed siggi. That is all I am saying

We never had the money so we couldn't offer him the wages spurs were.

Spurs, who have a much more strict wage structure than ours.

The valuation part is some BS line spun out by the club, I didnt think people actually brought that 🙄

How do people not think we have money when we spent 132m on wages last season ?

We've got money. It's tied up in a shite squad though

  • Chelsea - £191m (up from £174m in 2009-10)
  • Manchester City - £174m (£133m)
  • Manchester United - £153m (£132m)
  • Liverpool - £135m (£121m)
  • Arsenal - £124m (£111m)

Has it not struck you yet that maybe we are trying cut back on what we pay on wages? I think it's right and pretty obvious that we'll now be walking away from deals where in which we think the player/club is asking for too much.

What?

What are moaning about then? The fact we didn't match the valuation because we can't afford it, or the fact we didn't match the price because we can't even beat Spurs (who finished above us) to a player?

And you don't think we have valuations of players? It seems we didn't last season, it's pretty obvious we've been trying to learn from our mistakes and consciously not fall into the same trap. So of course we have limitations. Hahahahahahahaha, and you have the gall to post a stupid smiley to make some condescending point that the idea of clubs putting caps on what they think a player is worth as being some kind of inhouse bullshit. Get fucked.

You don't know what you want, other than to act like a moaning obnoxious dimwit at every opportunity. I said it wouldn't take long with you, and it didn't.

Predictable cunt.
