It's a very old piece that and one I have been telling you about prior to the Euros.

Mancinis top target was assumed to be Coloccini and next on the list Agger.

Pay attention dear brethren to what is being said.

YAY!!!

Is he any good? Anyone?
So they are losing Van Persie for Giroud and Podolski?
Or is it Van Persie in the middle with these two either side?

Won Montpellier the French League. The equivalent of Newcastle winning the Premiership.
That's why I keep harping about their other prominent player and the player of the season in the french league, Belhanda.

He's no Carroll.

To be honest don't know that much about him, but I guess he's decent at least. Whether he'll play much however, with van Persie is around, is yet to be seen. Van Persie on the wing has never really worked for them and Wenger with two strikers? I think not.

Joleon Lescott may be on his way away from Manchester, however, as City are said to be mulling over letting him go to Liverpool, which would facilitate City's swoop for Daniel Agger. If that elaborate plot is thwarted, City will just go buy Fabricio Coloccini.

I have a better idea, let's swap Luis Suarez + £10 Million for Adam Johnson. I think that's a fair deal.

Loads of options for Wenger as things stand. Van Persie, Gervinho, Walcott, Giroud, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Podolski, Chu Young, Miyaichi, Bendtner and Chamakh. Granted some are wank.

We've really got to get more goals/potential matchwinners added to our squad.

Eccleston set to leave Reds

Liverpool reserve striker Nathan Eccleston is set to leave the club on a free transfer as he looks for more first-team football.

Eccleston: Looking for a fresh challeng
The 21-year-old's contract was due to expire next summer but his desire for first-team football will now see him explore other opportunities, reports Sky Sports.
Eccleston forged a reputation as a goalscorer of some note within Anfield due to his exploits with the youth and reserve teams.
However, his chances to make an imprint on the first-team were limited due to the multi-million signings occupying his position.
The former England Under-17 striker was loaned to Charlton and Rochdale last year, where he showed glimpses of his striking talents.
Liverpool still retain some belief in his ability and will allow him to leave Anfield for free, on the proviso a sell on clause is inserted into his contract with his new employers.

We should do that with all our young prospects rather than loan deals.

Give them a free transfer as long as there's a hefty sell on clause, and a first option to buy back too.

Mathieu Flamini has signed a one-year contract extension with Serie A club AC Milan.
Flamini, 28, has played 100 games for Milan since signing from Arsenal in 2008 but missed most of last season with a knee injury.

"Hello haters"

Lescott for Agger. That'd be horrible.

Would be like swapping a Ferrari with a Prius.

Yeah the former probably goes more miles and is eco-frienldy and all too but it's a pretty mediocre ride compared to the Ferrari that'll make you feel all sexy and rich and full of swag.

At least when it's not at the mechanics. Then the Prius is handy enough.

Ecclestone's a decent young player whose attitude has improved hugely in the past couple of years. I don't see the point in letting him go when he was just getting a chance on the bench last season and had received so much time and effort from the coaching staff. There are a few who could be released in this way, but I still think it's a pity it's him.

It's a good move on his part though. At the age of 21 there really isn't anywhere for him to go at Liverpool.

He needs to move down a league (or two) and start his career proper.

I agree Ecclestone was one of the better players in the reserves.

Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert is hopeful of reaching a "positive conclusion" to his bid to sign Feyenoord midfielder Karim El Ahmadi.

Lambert has confirmed Villa are in talks with the 27-year-old player.

Press Association Sport understands they are close to agreeing a fee for the player in the region of £2.5-£3 million.

Lambert said: "We're in talks at this moment, those talks are ongoing and we hope to reach a positive conclusion with Feyenoord and the player.

"Karim is a player who I feel could definitely improve our squad. He has experience of big club football and also at international level.

"He can pass the ball well and he could be an important player for us in central midfield.

"Let's see how things progress. We're very hopeful."

Ahmadi spent four seasons with FC Twente before signing for Feyenoord in 2008 for five million euros.

He was born in Enschede, but is of Moroccan descent and has played 10 times for Morocco.

Ahmadi is known for his strong defensive qualities and would become Lambert's first major signing since replacing Alex McLeish as Villa manager last month.

Manchester United have stepped up their pursuit of James Rodriguez amid reports of a £30million-plus bid for the 20-year old winger being rejected by Porto.

After having him watched repeatedly last season, United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has made the Porto prospect one of his top summer targets and registered his interest with the Primeira League champions.

Rodriguez would not come cheap after he agreed to a £40million buy-out clause being included in the five-year contract he signed last summer.

Porto are determined to hold out for the full amount and have turned down a £30million offer from United, according to reports in Portugal.

United have been strongly linked with Rodriguez ever since doubts were raised about Nani’s Old Trafford future, but it is understood Ferguson wants to sign him, regardless of whether the Portugal winger stays.

With Porto showing little interest in a player-exchange deal, despite claims that midfielder Anderson could be used as a makeweight, United will have to dig deep for the left-footed Colombian, who can operate on either flank or as a striker.
