I'd like him simply because he is a bit trcky

If his head's straight and the money's right, I'd be OK with signing him because he is (i) a genuine winger and (ii) equally good on either wing.

I read in the paper today though that he's leaning towards a move to Tottenham.

SWANSEA CITY have agreed a club record fee with Celtic for Ki Sung-Yeung.

Swans chairman Huw Jenkins today confirmed a bid, believed to by £5m had been accepted, with the Welsh club now keen to tie up personal terms in the next 24 hours.

Jenkins said: “We have agreed a fee with Celtic for Ki. We are currently holding discussion with player and agent over personal terms.

“We are aware of other clubs interest but we are hopeful we can conclude a deal in the next 24 hours. We feel he is a very exciting young player who has a good career infront of him.”

Bhoys boss Neil Lennon earlier admitted talks were are at an "advanced" stage over completing a move to the Liberty Stadium.

Lennon's assistant Johan Mjallby confirmed Ki has said he wants to leave Parkhead and that a bid has been made for the player, seen as a potential replacement for Joe Allen by Swans chiefs.

Speaking after Ki failed to travel to Sweden for Celtic's Champions League clash with Helsinborgs, Mjallby did not confirm it was Swansea who had stumped up the cash with QPR and Fulham also in the hunt for the energetic 6ft 2in middle man, dubbed the 'Korean Steven Gerrard'.

But he said: "He is keen to move on and the club is in discussion with another club. There have been a few clubs interested in him.I know for sure there has been one bid for him. He is a quality player, but he is keen to move on, so the club needs to do something. He was away at the Olympics for a period of time, but we will be sorry to see him go."

And Celtic officials later admitted it was Laudrup who had made the first move, with Lennon adding: "It will be unfortunate to lose a talented player but that's been our strategy at the club now for the last two or three years.

"We cultivate players then move them on. We feel it's good business."

Laudrup has worked hard in the transfer market since arriving in South Wales, utilising a mixture of his own contacts at the club's in-place scouting system to snap up a blend of British-based and continental talent. Opening day hero Michu, defender Chico, midfielder Jonathan de

Guzman, striker Itay Shechter, Arsenal centre-back Kyle Bartley and Preston frontman Jamie Proctor have all arrived.

A bid for Mark Davies had been submitted but it looks likely the club have switched their attentions to Ki with Bolton playing hardball over the former Wolves man, while Swansea are still monitoring the situation regarding Valencia winger Pablo Hernandez after launching a bid last week.

Looking at the lack of bite and goals in attack, Dempsey would be most welcome now.

I dont think he'll be the answer to our goal scoring problems though. Mind you, I don't think we can afford the answer to our goal scoring problems either

I agree mate, but bringing in someone who is used to scoring goals and can play in several different attacking positions is good. Downing isnt exactly lethal.

Need a striker aswell.

Haha! We also got bullied quite easily against WBA, that was a bit worrying. Need some agression and bit in the side.

Carroll Adam Cole Spearing - We should break even getting rid of that lot

Would that leave cash for Dempsey and a 20 million pounder? Hope so but probably far too much business to be done.

No chance would we get all that. It's either a striker or dempsey

I'd rather a striker

£45m for that lot, absolutely no chance, we are prepared to let Adam go for £5m and nobody will take him, Carroll has attracted no bids higher that £17m despite our enthusiasm to get rid of him all summer. That would leave Spearing and Cole to bring in another what £15m to balance the dempsey fee, I couldnt see us getting half of that

We should have sold Carroll to West Ham when we had the chance and been done with it, now we are stuck with him and unable to rebuild the side as a result, his value will be even lower next season because he will be a year older and have about 4 more league goals to his name

Glad to see my webchat has been transcribed. To summarise on #LFC: £28m spent, £3-4m raised. Sell to buy from now on, defo for big signings.

Break even is 24-25 million

Carroll 16?
Adam 5?
Spearing 2?
Cole - anything?

If we we're happy enough to be around £25 million down before selling these guys then we should have that to spend again.

So effectively, City and Chelsea would have swapped Sturridge and Sinclair after 3 years?

Swansea admit Sinclair is set for City
August 21, 2012
Swansea first team coach Alan Curtis has admitted that it is just a matter of time before winger Scott Sinclair signs for Manchester City.

Sinclair has long been linked with a move to the Etihad Stadium in the last few weeks, and Curtis has confirmed that a bid for the 23-year-old former Chelsea player has been made by Roberto Mancini.

With Sinclair, who scored eight goals as the Swans stayed up last season, unwilling to sign a new contract at the Liberty Stadium, his departure is almost assured.

"[He is] not really interested in signing a new contract and I think Man City have made a bid," said Curtis. "So it's just a matter of time now before it happens and it's good for both parties.

"He's been terrific for us, to be fair, we've had two seasons out of him and he was superb in the Championship and virtually his goals got us promotion.
"And last year as well he wasn't maybe quite as effective as he was his first year - obviously it was a lot tougher opposition - but he's been absolutely magnificent."

Sinclair will be the Welsh club's second major departure of the season, after midfielder Joe Allen moved to Liverpool. But Swansea, boosted by new signing Michu, impressed as they beat QPR 5-0 in the opening game of the season, and Curtis does not expect the two losses to be disastrous for manager Michael Laudrup.

"Like Joe we wish him all the best, but as long as the club keeps pushing forward that's the main thing," Curtis added. "It obviously gives Scott the chance to settle in at his new club and it gives us the opportunity to buy a replacement for Scott."

Swansea are closing in on Celtic midfielder Ki Sung-yueng, as they look to bolster their squad before the transfer window closes.

Vertonghen, Kaboul, Caulker and Gallas are all better than him. Good business by Spurs imo for someone who won't get many games.

I havnt seen CAulker at all, but no fucking way is Gallas better than Dawson nowadays. Gallas is waaaaaay past it.

Caulker and Vertonghen too. They had about 8 or 9 centre-backs a while ago with Bassong, King, Nelsen, Corluka and Khumalo having only departed this Summer.

I forgot Vertonghen and I meant Caulker (Naughton I think is a RB). I guess that's 4 pretty decent CB - so they're trying to pick up money to sign Carroll.
