They already have one good left sided and they want another!

All they need now is a big target man to get on some of the crosses....

Surely such a player couldn't exist and be available at a massive discount? Maybe we should si......... oh yea 😱

Not rumour but thought its interesting bit of infor

Inter could’ve signed Lucas Moura for €25m “several weeks ago,” reveals his agent after a €44.5m transfer to PSG.

The Nerazzurri had been first to push for the striker’s signature at the start of the summer, but pulled out when a bidding war developed with Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain.

“If Lucas had forced Sao Paolo’s hand, then he would’ve been sold to Inter for €25m several weeks ago,” his representative told Bom Dia.

“After he said no to Inter, Sao Paolo had agreed a deal with Manchester United for €36m. However, then Leonardo’s proposal from PSG arrived...”

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers wants new England keeper Jack Butland to be Pepe Reina’s long-term successor.

The Kop chief has made an official move for the young shot-stopper, who wore the Three Lions gloves for the first time last week.

Rodgers is willing to pay Birmingham around £7.5millon for Butland – and could even loan him back to Blues, who are fighting to keep the 19-year-old.

Butland knows about the Kop’s move but he is spoilt for choice at the moment.

There are FOUR major clubs making moves for him, with Manchester City, Spurs and Southampton all in the running alongside Liverpool.

City have England No.1 Joe Hart and Butland, who made his Birmingham debut yesterday, knows he would take some shifting.

Tottenham see Butland in the same way Liverpool do — as a potential No.1 — and they are also willing to loan him back to Lee Clark’s side.

Supremo Daniel Levy wants a keeper to fill Brad Friedel’s jersey yet Liverpool may outbid the Londoners.

But Southampton may steal him away from the three Premier League giants.

The top-flight new boys have been on Butland’s trail all summer and are prepared to pay £8m for him. They could also offer him the best chance of first-team action.

The four-way interest poses a problem for Butland, who must decide whether to move to a big club and wait for his chance to star or take a gamble on Southampton, one of the favourites for relegation.

Insiders believe Liverpool’s latest move may be the most decisive.

LFC has barely any money, and has only invested lots of time and effort in helping Gulacsi to progress, so I guess spending £7m or more on that chocolate-wristed poltroon makes sense.

City linked with Jovetic bid
August 19, 2012
By Adam Digby, Italy Correspondent

Vincenzo Montella remains hopeful that Stevan Jovetic will remain at Fiorentina after reports in Italy suggested the club had turned down an offer from Manchester City for the forward.

According to the La Nazione, City sent scouts to Florence on Saturday to see Jovetic captain the Viola to a 2-0 Coppa Italia win against Novara.

Jovetic, 22, has been linked heavily with Juventus throughout the summer and earlier this month president Andrea Della Valle revealed the club had "turned down an offer" of €25 million for Jovetic which was believed to be from the Bianconeri.

La Nazione further claims City made an offer following Saturday's game but that it was rejected immediately.

Speaking after the victory, Fiorentina manager Montella told reporters: "I think he'd be disappointed if he left, because we are building an important team here.

"We're giving him a team for his characteristics. This is a side with quality and I am certain that Jovetic strongly wants to stay."

Vitesse Arnhem's Alexander Buttner has revealed that he is set to seal a 'dream' move to Manchester United. http://bit.ly/NzeaoG

Vitesse Arnhem's Alexander Buttner has revealed that he is set to seal a 'dream' move to Manchester United.
Southampton, Fulham and Queens Park Rangers have all made bids for the 23-year-old - but now it appears he is on his way to Old Trafford in a shock move.
Left-back Buttner, who was included in Holland's preliminary squad for Euro 2012, now appears to be closing on a move to England with the deal reportedly worth €5million (£3.9million).
Speaking to regional tv station Omroep Gelderland Buttner admitted was about to seal his 'dream' move.
"This is really a dream come true," he said.
"It was all arranged very quickly and of course I am very delighted. Happily everything is coming to an end."
Buttner has been in dispute with Vitesse over his attempts to seal a move away from the club, and had even taken his case to the KNVB (Dutch FA) - but now he looks to have got his wish of a move away from the Gelredome.
United had long been linked with a new left-back with Everton's Leighton Baines believed to be Sir Alex Ferguson's top target - but now it seems Buttner is the man he wants to provide competition for Patrice Evra.

good

not convinced we'll get replacements for that price though
Aqualini's wages are paying for Allen, Borinni and Assaidi to play for us.
Getting cole of the wage bill (I know it is not totally going to happen) would free up to £6m on our wage bill every year.
Assaidi probably cost less than that when you take into account his transfer fee and what he will earn over the duration of his contract.
Let's hope he can contribute more to us than Joe did

I think we should get rid of most of the current lot and get in a whole squad from the Dutch League on £20k per week. That way if they are shit we don't have to send them out on loan and pay three quarters of their wages while if they are good we are quids in
