Manchester United have targeted Ajax teenager Christian Eriksen as the man to solve their midfield problems.
Full story: Daily Mail

Imagine if this happened ....KHL would need to pop out the uppers no end .

Meulensteen confirmed yesterday that Eriksen was one name on their wishlist. That's not same as he'll go there of course because he won't. Anfield bound.

In my dreams.

Tottenham have submitted a £5m (€6M) offer for ex-Liverpool goalkeeper Nikolay Mihaylov, according to reports in Holland today.

Mihaylov, 23, has been scouted on several occasions by Spurs scouts whilst playing for his club side FC Twente this season and with the January transfer window approaching, it seems Spurs have followed up their interest with a firm bid.

Liverpool fans may be familiar with Mihaylov as the keeper spent almost 3 years at Anfield before making the move to Twente for £1.5m in 2010, although he failed to make a single first team appearance on Merseyside.

Do we have a sell on fee ?
I have a very vague recollection of us having a 40% sell on fee for him (but I may have dreamt it).

Just yesterday the Barcelona president said they hadn't spoken to him. Where have you heard this?
They were discussing it on Revista de la Liga mate, but there seems to be quite a few other sources suggesting it's true as well.

Catalunya Radio says Barca president Sandro Rosell has an agreement locked away for Neymar after the 2014 World Cup.

Rosell moved quickly for Neymar upon learning of Real Madrid’s interest earlier this season and has since confirmed the deal while in Japan for the Club World Cup.

The Barca president met with Neymar's father and his agent while in Japan to convince them that the Nou Camp was the best place for the youngster.

It's claimed Neymar will confirm he is going to Barca a few days before the World Cup kicks off.

Barca and Santos did play each other recently. I guess something happened there.

Wasn't our problem with getting permits for this guy?

Suiggs, unless Erikkson is that kind of player (i.e. would look past not earning as much, and reputation of club at current moment) or Molby/Agger gets to him, I strongly doubt he'll land with us ... Probably Shitty/Manure (I doubt he'd sign for Barca/Real as he wants to play)

Come on lads, it's Eriksen.

ERIKSEN.

We need to spell out his name right or he won't come.

Oh and Liverpool's reputation is still grand, fear not ;D

“My next goal is to make a transfer to a bigger club. I will soon have talks with my manager about the future. I think I will make a transfer this summer”, Mihaylov said while talking to the journalists.

The 23-year-old gloves man then went on to reveal that his desire is to play for the Diavolo in the future.

“I want to play for AC Milan. My personal ambitions are huge”, Mihaylov concluded.

Mihaylov has an ongoing contract at the Tukkers that will keep him at De Grolsch Veste until the summer of 2014. The club management would not like to let go of their prized asset at the end of the ongoing season. However, an offer in the region of 12 million Euros could prove too tempting an offer to decline.

YAY!

Liverpool are pondering a January move for Wolverhampton Wanderers forward Steven Fletcher
He's a player who knows where the goal is, i'd take him if he was cheap
His stats are pretty good.

- 6 goals in last 10 matches.

- Since joining Wolves in June 2010, no player has scored more headed goals in the PL than Steven Fletcher (9)

- 137 - Steven Fletcher's minutes per goal since August 2010, compared to 114 mins/goal for Javier Hernandez. Prolific. (Before his goal vs. Man Utd on 10th Dec)
10 - Steven Fletcher has scored more headed goals than any other Premier League player since the start of last season.

So we're being strongly linked with this Argentinian bod, Teo Gutierrez. He has a 1 in 2 record consistently but the alarm bells suggest this guy doesn't travel well at all. Went to to the Turkish side Trabsblahbor (ahem) and did shit, before disappearing back home without the club's permission. Interestingly, one goal he did score for Trabs was against us. Sounds like a homesick boy unfortunately.

Hey, he could move into Masher's old place and wave out the window at Maxi.

Caught Offside said:
Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish has his eye on young Swansea City midfielder Joe Allen and after a lengthy scouting assessment the Anfield manager is said to be considering making a move for the Welsh international.

The pint sized 21 year old has been in fine form this term and has managed to adapt well to life in the top tier and shown maturity beyond his years as he helps pulls the strings in the Swansea City midfield. The Carmarthen born youngster has become a pivotal member of Brendan Rogers’ side and he would be loathed to lose such a talented asset but may fear that Allen may be tempted by the thought of a high-profile move to Anfield.

Though Liverpool brought in a number of central midfield options in the summer, including Charlie Adam and Jordan Henderson, Messrs Dalglish and director of football Damien Comolli are plotting moves with the long term future of the club in mind and have been scouting youthful talents they feel have the potential to become part of a new generation of talent at the club.

Allen has already racked up over 100 appearances for the Swans and as well as being a part of the side that secured promotion from League One to the Championship the intelligent midfielder was a crucial member of the side that triumphed in the play-offs to make the leap into the Premier League.

Dalglish has scouted Joe Allen and believes the Welshman could be a very useful addition to his Liverpool squad and even though the Swansea City man is tied to a long term contract the Scot will look to make an offer for the central midfielder either in January or more likely next summer

Caught Offside said:
Liverpool will next month confirm their pursuit of Fiorentina midfielder Riccardo Montolivo by making a £6m bid for the Italian international. The 26 year old Italian international is reportedly a player that director of football Damien Comolli has earmarked to give the Anfield side added steel following the season ending injury sustained by in form Brazilian Lucas Leiva.

Montolivo is yet to put pen to paper on a new contract and his current deal ends in the summer and the defensive midfielder would then be free to leave the Artemi Franchi Stadium side for nothing. Therefore an offer for his services may well be accepted by Fiorentina boss Delio Rossi and Liverpool are just one of many sides monitoring the situation ahead of the re-opening of the transfer window in just a few days time.

Montolivo has become a pivotal player at the Florence club having notched up over 200 appearances since his move to Fiorentina from Atalanta back in the summer of 2005.

Fiorentina’s poor start to the current campaign cost Sinisa Mihajlovic his job and the club currently lies in 14th spot in the table, a situation that has left Montolivo looking for a new club. Fellow Serie A sides are said to be keen on the tough tackling midfielder but a move to the Premier League may tempt the Viola captain.

Liverpool lack alternative defensive midfield options, Jay Spearing has filled in for Lucas but the young Englishman found himself harshly sent off at Fulham and Kenny Dalglish opted to bring back Jonjo Shelvey from his loan spell at Blackpool but a player of Montolivo’s experience is a more adept replacement for Lucas Leiva and a box to box midfielder who can serve in other roles once the Brazilian international has recovered from his knee injury.

Despite the club’s plans to appeal, the impending suspension of Luis Suarez means that Liverpool could make a January move for another attacker, with Dynamo Kiev forward Andriy Yarmolenko emerging as a potential candidate.

It was revealed last week that Suarez would face an eight-game ban following an FA investigation into racist remarks that were apparently made against Manchester United defender, Patrice Evra.

However, one could argue that the Merseysiders need to delve into the transfer market once again regardless of whether or not they’ll be missing the Uruguayan for a good portion of the New Year, as they look to be in stuttering form already this campaign.

The Reds have surrendered points against Swansea, Norwich, Wigan and most recently Blackburn, showing a lack of attacking instinct in more than a few fixtures.

Yarmolenko has been a staple in the Kiev squad since moving from Desna Chernihiv in 2007, making 119 appearances for the Ukrainian giants, netting on 40 appearances.

The 22 year-old has also notched up 17 appearances for the Ukrainian national side for whom he’s scored six goals since making his debut in 2009 at the age of 19.

Liverpool have been linked with a host of Europe’s top attacking talent in recent weeks including Eden Hazard, Adam Johnson and Christian Eriksen as they look to bolster their attacking options.

The Anfield side have spent heavily in 2011, racking up a bill of over £100m after splurging on players such as Luis Suarez, Stewart Downing, Jordan Henderson and of course the faltering £35m signature, Andy Carroll.

However, club owners New England Sports Ventures have made no claims that they intend to stop spending and Liverpool will be expected to make signings in the New Year as they look to return to the Champions League places.

Yarmolenko is a star for club and country, but the left winger – who is also capable of functioning as a striker – could be available for £10m.

That didn't work out well in terms of keeping Masher happy. Though maybe it will be more fun waving at Maxi than Insua. It would certainly be fun waving at Maxi's wife. Hubba hubba.

We should swoop in and sign Henry on loan for three months.
He's always wanted to play for us and knows where the goal is.
Cheap easy solution.

Think he's also said he wouldn't play for another PL club out of 'respect', hasn't he?

She's taken better pics. That one at the Lucas family barbeque was like, hmmmm, yes pleasey.

I don't know who we should sign tbh, but i do know that the next 2 transfer windows will tell us quite a bit about FSG's intentions.

1 or 2 quality players added and it's time to get genuinely excited.
