Liverpool Plot Move to Sign Crystal Palace Youngster Wolf Zaha

Liverpool are targeting Crystal Palace youngster Wilfried Zaha as the Anfield side continues to plan for the future and will reportedly make a bid for the England Under 19 international in January.

The teenage attacker has impressed many with this performances for Palace this season and is now a regular in Dougie Freedman’s first team plans and is now said to be on the radar of many Premier League sides who have taken a keen interest in his services.

Liverpool’s director of football Damien Comolli has sent scouts to monitor the youngster’s progress and with a number of prospective suitors said to be beating a path to Zaha’s door the Merseyside club are keen to register their interest and make a significant bid for the adaptable starlet.

The Ivory Coast born 19 year old spent much of last season making an impact coming off the bench but has been a virtual ever present for Crystal Palace this season and has been showing growing maturity and his performances in the club’s Carling Cup run have drawn glowing praise.

Kenny Dalglish has blooded a number of youngsters in his first team and the likes of Martin Kelly, John Flanagan, Jack Robinson and Jay Spearing have made the jump from the club’s academy to the Premier League with aplomb and the Liverpool boss is keen to bring in quality youngsters to compliment those coming through the ranks.

Liverpool have invested in the likes of Jordan Henderson, Andy Carroll and Sebastian Coates in 2011 and they are now hoping to bring in Zaha, who can play either as an orthodox striker or out wide and appear to have the potential to make the step up to the top tier.

Re: Reds prepare £10m bid for 'new Walcott'
« Reply #61 on: January 15, 2011, 12:53:40 PM »QuoteI haven't see Chamberlain yet but £10m for such an untried kid seems steep. For half that amount we'd probably get Wilfred Zaha from Palace and he looks to have every trick in the book and could become a huge star. He's currently on SKY sports 2 playing against Swansea if ye want to have a gander.Report to moderator Logged

I have him down as one of the funniest posters on the site though I haven't totally ruled out the possibility that he is the most deluded poster around

I agree, I think the Zaha thing started as a wind-up but I now think that he actually has convinced himself that he "unearthed" the gem. I also agree Kenny is brill.

Y'see what you made me do? You're a bad man!

Zaha just signed a contract extension today.

Crystal Palace are delighted to announce that Wilfried Zaha has signed a new five and a half year contract with the club.

Nineteen year old Zaha has committed his future to the Eagles until 2017, having been with the club since joining the Palace academy in March 2004. This season he has scored five times in 26 games and been a major player in the club's progress to the semi-finals of the Carling Cup.

Manchester United have targeted Ajax teenager Christian Eriksen as the man to solve their midfield problems.

Imagine if this happened ....KHL would need to pop out the uppers no end .

Jack Rodwell keep getting linked to people, and will be cheaper than this Newcastle chap.

Yay or nay? Would Everton even go for it? Is he all that?

Tottenham have submitted a £5m (€6M) offer for ex-Liverpool goalkeeper Nikolay Mihaylov, according to reports in Holland today.

Mihaylov, 23, has been scouted on several occasions by Spurs scouts whilst playing for his club side FC Twente this season and with the January transfer window approaching, it seems Spurs have followed up their interest with a firm bid.

Liverpool fans may be familiar with Mihaylov as the keeper spent almost 3 years at Anfield before making the move to Twente for £1.5m in 2010, although he failed to make a single first team appearance on Merseyside.

Last question first: dunno. Bluenoses themselves are divided about him. When he first appeared on the scene I thought "this one is a real player", but - selection for the England squad notwithstanding - he doesn't seem to have kicked on from there so far. I'd prefer Tiote myself. Would Everton go for it? IMO yes, if we made a reasonable offer - they're too desperate for cash to get choosy about where it comes from.

Deal done for Barca to sign Neymar.
[/quote]

Seriously?

Holy fuck.

El Mundo Deportivo says Barca have negotiated a clause which will see Santos cough up a staggering €10 million should they sell Neymar to another club before the 2014 World Cup.

Real Madrid and Chelsea are also keen on Neymar, but Barca are clear favourites for the young Brazilian, whose father and agent both met with club president Sandro Rosell during the Club World Cup in Japan to discuss personal terms.

Barca also haven't ruled out buying Neymar before 2014 and Rosell has made it clear to the club's football directors he's willing to pull the trigger earlier should they want him
My mate told me he needs to stay in Brazil until after the World Cup. I'm not sure why, something to do with money, their bid, image-rights, etc. I guess this sort of fits with that.

Edit: Sorry i couldn't see your quoted article first time around.

It's getting crazy isn't it?

Barca have paid 10mil to Santos already with the view to sign him anytime before 2014 (Neymar has agreed and personal terms have been sorted)
