Is there any news on Henderson/Lallana/Ings? Can't seem to find anything.

Also, it got me to thinking - If Henderson or Lallana get fit, they'll pretty much waltz into the first team rightly or wrongly, but the likes of Sturridge/Grujic/Gomez can't get games although they're allegedly fit now, with Klopp citing a lack of 'rhythm' or something like that, although I'm sure the same rhythm isn't applicable to the other 2. I presume that Klopp doesn't fancy those 3 and he's using them to pad the bench as there isn't anyone else.

Also, I think we could do with Lallana at the moment, especially with Mane out, but are we actually missing Henderson at all? How long has he been out? Is he a great miss? Should he really be captain next season? Surely the captain should be the sort of player that is absolutely vital to the team and if they're not there there is a massive massive difference?

Henderson is entering Sturridge territory for me.
We can't rely on either going forward.

I wouldn't change a thing at the moment. We are unbeaten since the Leicester horror show.

I agree. I was thinking the other day that the situation reminds me of Ledley King and Spurs a few years back.

We need to buy a midfielder or two in the summer anyways so maybe we do so with the intention of pushing Henderson to the bench and seeing how next season goes for him.

I agree. And therefore I'm not sure if Henderson should hold on to the captaincy. I like the fella, but I'm not sure he's that great a player/captain and he's a bit too injury prone.

On the Hendo thing, would getting a solid Left Back and pushing Milner up the field work for people? He's a decent captain has that drive and determination to lead

Yep. He's one of my favorites but he's no longer an automatic selection. He's either out or playing his way back into form most of the time. Class player but not reliable. We should be trying to acquire his replacement this offseason and letting them compete for a spot.

No, I don't think Milner in midfield as a starter is the answer either. Love Milner and his versatility but we need better if we genuinely plan on competing for the title.

So was Fergie right?

People will say no, because they can't admit that Ferguson got it right. And because the comment was a reference to running from his knees rather than hips - they'll argue that Ferguson was implying that he'd have knee problems.

But the reality is his foot problems are a result of biomechanics and inflammation issues. And his gait is a huge part of it.

So Ferguson was right that he'd suffer problems but whether he was right not to sign him because of them is questionable.

Reminds me a bit of when Tony Adams said Vieira would struggle to play effectively at an advanced age because one of his legs was shorter than other or something.

He was right aswell, even if he was a mad piss-head with a face like a haunted fireplace.

For what we paid, in today's market he was definitely worth it.
We'll at least get double that figure if we sell him.
But yeah, my take is that Fergie was right.

Hasnt it already been confirmed that this injury isnt related to the other heel injury?
If thats true, and by looking at his injury record its a bit to early to say if Fergie was right.

What is right is that he's been far to much injured these last few seasons and we need a quality signing in midfield so we're not dependent on him.
Naby Keita would obviously be a brilliant signing.

Where was that confirmed ?

This is from January regarding the heel injury in 2017:
Klopp confirmed that the heel in which Henderson sustained the injury is not the same one that gave him trouble last season. In late 2015, the skipper picked up a knock that was ultimately diagnosed as plantar fasciitis, and it kept him out of commission for three months. That means that the knock is not a recurrence of that specific injury.

Regarding the ongoing foot injury from late Feb, there hasnt been any other news I think that he had a scan to check if it was broken. So, I dont think its safe to assume its the heel again or not. In work now but will check later.

Fergie's take was that his running or gait would cause him injury problems.
Doesn't matter which foot it is, I guess.

Plantar fascitiis affects more than just the heel.
It affects from to the heel to the other side of the arch. And can and does affect both feet.

But there arent any evidence that his injury issues are related? His latest injury was from a knock in training by one of his teammates.
His injury history these last few seasons doesnt paint a pretty picture but its a bit much to give Fergie credit and put it all down to his heel issue without any evidence or first hand knowledge.

So his running style or gait has seen him break his metatarsal in a tackle, get a minor wound and tear ligament in his knee after landing akwardly?

Well his first bout of plantar fasciitis was reported as being from a knock in training so i wouldn't rely on the reporting.

But why then have a scan to determine if something is broken? If its an occurence of the same heel problem.
Not saying that it isnt, but there isnt much evidence to go on.

Because medicine is a process of elimination - he had bruising. That can have a number of causes, they ruled out a broken bone. They haven't mentioned plantar fascitis being ruled out.
They might have been checking for calcification of scar tissue rather than a broken bone.

All i know is that the journos don't report these things well.

When you compensate, other parts of the chain strain and weaken. It's far from conclusive but hardly far-fetched.

Acc to Klopp-

Lallana maybe back for Watford

Hendo out for rest of season

Danny ings running but out for season

Doesnt want joe hart has two ace keepers , not looking to change...
