Lol actually he needs 3 more pens to break the record for those in a PL season.
Had a bit of a Statto moment and decided to work out the respective percentages for scoring appearances, which change the order somewhat:
Hodgson 64%
SALAH 62%
Hunt 58%
Owen 53%
Rush 52%
Fowler 50%
Chambers 45%
Liddell 43%
Dalglish 33%
Gerrard 26%
Rush did miss a season in his prime but if Salah was to stay for another 3 years I’d back him to break the record by hook or by crook.
If we somehow manage to win the league and CL this year and scores 30+ goals leading us to it he’s our best ever imo.

Stat padding.
Basically, his timeline to pass Shearer and Rush is about the same. He needs 4 very good or 3 outstanding seasons to do it.
It seems so unlikely but he's just so single-minded (about his stat padding lol) that I wouldn't put it past him to do it.
Not many players have a better penalty record than him over the last few years. Big pressure with the majority this season.
Well very few had him down for 40 goals this season and he’s on track for it. I would definitely not put it past him if he signs on.
