The Egyptian King

I regret nothing!
Slot deserves huge praise for the way he's set up the team and helped Salah reach the numbers.

Salah on the otherhand deserves everything.
Looks like a joy to be around the training ground, Called Sboz a kid in the interview like a big brother ruffling his kid bros hair while ribbing him.
Smiling ear to ear walking around barefoot at the coffee bar.

Works his ass off on the pitch, and I'm sure on the training ground, setting the example.

All this while the contract chat continues.

He's posted ridiculous numbers in terms of assists even though he's had mostly Nunez/Diaz to aim for.

I have to admit....even he has inspired me this season, esp. after his interview when he talked about how he picks himself up after a missed goal, and how his reaction affects others.

I was in favour of selling, but it has to be seen in the context of it being our last chance to get a significant fee for him and reshape the attack in the new managers vision, who was unannounced and there was plenty of uncertainty around. I'm not even sure we had the safety of Edwards returning at that point.

Salah has proven this season that selling would have been a mistake. If he doesn't sign a new deal, and leaves on a free, then it does put a new lens on it, even after whatever heights we hit this season. Replacing him with £100M budget would be tough. Replacing him with nothing coming in could lead to a decision which hurts us for 4-5 years from now. I see no reason why he wouldn't re-sign with us, though. It all just feels like gamesmanship.

Depends very much on the Champions League I imagine. If we somehow lose in the next round and they end up winning, it won't matter what Salah did in PL, such is the bias.

I was gonna say the same thing. He needs to star in the CL and we need to at least make the finals I reckon.

Always makes me feel uncomfortable seeing opposition managers tap up our players.

You can imagine him saying "ill give you Haaland wages, imagine how many assists you'd have if it wasn't Nunez you were setting up".
