Liverpool are reportedly readying a surprise bid for Real Madrid playmaker Kaka according toSports Direct News.
Brendan Rodgers is expected to make an offer for the 31 year old Brazilian who is little more than a bit-part player at the Bernabeu and could well be tempted by a move to the Premier League before the transfer window slams shut.
Kaka was already playing a greatly limited role at Real Madrid and the summer signing of Isco will further hamper his chances of making an impact, even under his former AC Milan boss Carlo Ancelotti. Last term the former World Footballer of the Year was handed just 12 La Liga starts and hasn’t figured at all in the club’s opening fixturesof 2013/14, signalling his career at the club being all but over.
Brendan Rodgers has adopted a youthful transfer policy but may feel that the chance to add balance with the purchase of an experienced campaigner such as Kaka is too good an opportunity to pass up.
Kaka has already publicly stated his intention to leave Real Madrid, announcing;
“now is the right moment for me and for the club for me to leave amicably”.
With Coutinho and Lucas Leiva at the club Rodgers may feel his pursuit of another Brazilian could well be a successful one.
Prior to his move to Real Madrid Kaka had become a world beater at the San Siro, winning Serie A, Champions League and Super Cup titles at the Italian club but his move to the Spanish capital has been something of a failure.
Injuries and average form have led Kaka’s career to stall and a move to Anfield could be a chance to help re-ignite the Real Madrid attacking midfielder’s fortunes.

I actually think this could make sense at the right price. While not the player he once was, he could be good cover/replacement for Countinho, when things are not going well. We have already seen multiple times this season that Countinho is both brilliant and frustratingly naive at times. Kaka could mentor him from the bench and create an impact from it. He would also not be a threat to Coutinho, as a younger playmaker (a la Eriksen might be).

Let's do this.

I'm with you. Kaka can mentor Coutinho and the younger midfielders/forwards, in the same way Toure influences the defenders, and possibly Given the keepers.

If it's a toss up between Moses and Kaka, it's the latter any day of the week.

I'd love for us to sign Kaka for nostalgic reasons, wonderful player who fucked it by going to Madrid.

The ball to Crespo for his 2nd(?) in *that* final was gorgeous.

If we are bringing two defenders in, then Skrtel must be on his way to Napoli...

At least it will please Tony Adams. I saw him preview all the weekend games earlier today, and every analysis focused exclusively on the centre backs. He concluded that we wouldn't do that well 'because there's not enough back up at centre back'.

He also said Arsenal don't need to sign any players & can make top four easily by having someone working with the defenders on the training ground.

I think he's a tad myopic.

Victor Moses: Chelsea forward is one of three players Liverpool are looking to land before deadline passes

Sky Sports sources understand that Liverpool are closing on deals for Victor Moses, Mamadou Sakho and Tiago Ilori.

Positive discussions are believed to be ongoing regarding a possible season-long loan agreement for Chelsea forward Moses - who is also of interest to West Bromwich
Albion.

The Nigeria international, who moved to Stamford Bridge from Wigan Athletic in August 2012, is yet to figure for Jose Mourinho's Blues so far this season.
Liverpool would welcome the opportunity to add Moses' creativity to their ranks, as Brendan Rodgers looks to build on a productive opening to the season which has brought back-to-back 1-0 successes.

The Reds boss is also working hard to bolster his defensive options before Monday's transfer deadline.
With the vastly-experienced Kolo Toure having picked up a knock during a Capital One Cup clash against Notts County on Tuesday, and with new arrival Aly Cissokho facing up to six weeks on the sidelines, reinforcements have become a top priority.

Highly-rated Sporting Lisbon centre-half Ilori has been heavily linked with a switch to Anfield for some time now, with Sky Sports sources revealing on Friday that a fee had been agreed for his services.

It is understood that the 20-year-old has travelled to England to undergo a medical and finalise a move.

Ilori could soon find himself playing alongside Paris St Germain defender Sakho. The 23-year-old France international has grown frustrated at a lack of regular first-team football in the French capital and has publicly expressed a desire to move on.

PSG were initially reluctant to discuss the sale of a player who graduated out of their academy system, but Sakho is also believed to be on Merseyside to discuss personal terms and undergo a medical.

Liverpool looking to sign two very exciting young prospects
Liverpool have had a busy summer, signing a whole host of squad players, whilst also convincing their talismanic striker Luis Suarez to stay at the club, despite the Uruguayan looking to shift to Real Madrid or Arsenal. According to reports in the Daily Star, Liverpool are now looking to sign a few youngsters as investments for the future.

The first among them is Deni Hocko, who plays for Buducnost Podgorica (which is a club in the Montenegrin League). The youngster is already being compared to Andrea Pirlo due to his amazing passing skills and range. Sources in Italy report that both Liverpool and Crystal Palace have made enquiries for Hocko, who has impressed greatly with the Montenegrin youth squads.
The Reds of Merseyside are also keen on wonderkid Richairo Zivkovic who plays for FC Groningen in the Dutch Eredivisie and is also the club’s youngest ever goal scorer. The Dutch club’s director, Hans Nijland, had announced previously that Liverpool are putting together a deal to buy Zivkovic. He said, ”All the top clubs in Holland want him but Liverpool are here every week too. They are watching him closely and are very keen.”
