That's actually very true.
I was especially thinking of you to be honest.

Surely it's prima donna you mean?
Errrr..... I think not.
Pre-Madonna mate. Players who play and act like they've no experience of music prior to La Isla Bonita.
Ha! I have no problem admitting that I know less about the game than an assistant coach of a girls middle school team in rural Oklahoma.
Yes, but my point is that he lost important players and survived even managed to win stuff. He was constantly rebuilding per se.
He tried to improve the youth system and link it more closely with the first team set-up. Personally I think that's a problematic legacy, in the sense that both Rafa and Kenny had already started that process, only for it to effectively be torn-up and re-started on slightly different terms. I didn't think that was necessary. McParland being sacked was, in my view, a big mistake, but that's counter-balanced by Inglethorpe being brought in, and he's proven invaluable. And, undeniably, more kids got promoted and encouraged, and that will continue to have a positive effect for a few years to come.
He improved several players. He really was, at his best, an excellent one-on-one coach.
Of course it's debatable, but you could argue he probably got an extra year or two out of Gerrard at a stage when he was beginning to drift. He gave him a new focus, a new sense of drive and ambition, and he probably made him a more thoughtful player.
In that one extraordinary season he won the club a bit of its pride back, and reminded the rest of the country what was special about LFC.
And the bloke tried his best. In stark contrast to Hodgson, he had ambition, imagination and ideas - plenty of ideas - and he tried to play the game the right way.
So I wish him well. He wasn't right for the job, he wasn't at the right stage in his career to even be considered for the club, but in the circumstances he did better than I expected, so I wish him well. He'll do well at the right club for him.
Massive fanbase, lol.He is leaving a really young squad with no superstars in it. That is sort of like a trouble free and under-rated squad to inherit for any manager.
Klopp may be able to get us purring with just one or two key additions, and he would have Rodgers to thank for it.
It may be worth a separte discussion.
1. young squad
2. No super stars or egos acting like "pre maradona"
3. Lowered expectations
4. Relatively big turnover and spending power
5. Massive fan base..
May well be the best time to take on the Liverpool manager job. Klopp will most certainly be getting the most favourable conditions out of all the managers we have had in the last 10 years.
Do you have to ruin every thread with this shit?We should include him within the montage with all the great managers at this club whilst we are at it..
You know what we usually do for those managers that have won things.. [emoji12]
2013/14 Great.. made me proud to be a Liverpool fan.. Scintillating football at times..
But the 18 months that followed... oh dear...
Do we have a better squad than what we had over 3 years ago? Only time will tell..
Massive fanbase, lol.
I know this is the positivity thread and all, but #5s nothing to do with Brendan by any stretch of the imagination.
Yes Leo you are correct oh gracious one..Do you have to ruin every thread with this shit?
And then play the woe is me victim when people call you up about it.
You are ruining the site with the same monotonous bollox every day of the week.
You're genuinely too thick to realise it though.
KJ wasn't saying it is though. That list sets out the reasons why this is a good time to take the LFC job, not reasons to be grateful to Brendan Rodgers, hence the reference to a possible need for a separate discussion.

HAHAHA!I still get a hard-on thinking about the season before last. It was fucking boss. Yeah Suarez took the piss but Teeth lined them up so he could knock em down.
Amma gonna remember Teeth for that season only.
Nice one Teeth. Good luck you massive wanker. xxx
Well said Oncy - I have no animosity at all towards him and wish well on his next 'project' - He used to make me cringe lots though 'You train dogs' Fucking 'I have three envelopes' TEETH TEETH TEETH! Still I'll remember him fondly. Especially for THAT season.Mr Rodgers brought Sturridge and Coutinho to us.
Also we have players like Can, Moreno, Markovic, Ings, Origi, Clyne, Sakho, Firmino etc all relatively young and with the scope to get much better. He bombed out the dead wood and turned round the squad that Hodgson/Kenny left us. Made plenty of mistakes as all managers do but its a definate step forward.
Season before last gets a big tick from me. I know we finished second under Rafa once and I think Houllier once, but that was our ONLY proper title challenge in 25 years. So it CANNOT and SHOULD NOT be marginalised.
I alse think he loved the club very much. I am pretty sure he will talk about his time with us like Didi does and John Aldridge does.
I think he didnt work very well with the committee and that has probably cost him his job, but hes left us a good young squad (no Koncheskys or Jovanovics or Coles or Carrolls) and gave it a good go while he was here.
