Is it just me, or has Fernando kinda disappeared since Ngog came on?
Not just you. The team's kind of fallen apart since then. I suspect it might have been the formation change rather than Wash's presence though.

Poor game, but we won and kept a clean sheet. We'll probably scrape through. But let's face it - it wouldn't be the end of the world if they knocked us out, would it?

What a dismal game. Hope none of these reserve team spastics *ever* play for us

LucARSE, POOlsen, Maxi et al have been fucking shit

seriously do you even like football? it just seems to make you so angry
It was hardly an inspiring performance though

And unbelievably prejudiced. Poulsen had a decent debut and Lucas played well. I'm bewildered at the hatred shown towards Liverpool players.

This should cheer us all up: City were equally poor against an even worse side, and they also won 1-0 - but WITH THEIR FIRST TEAM!

Lucas played well.
No he never. He did what he always does. He's just...well...there. Not shite. Not good. There.

Poolsen has made one of the worst debuts I can remember. Utter shite
What an embarrassing post by the angry tabloid poster.

He was doing quite well really. Has already showed he's far more a goal-threat from midfield than any of our other DMers and he will only get better.

Go to your room.

Poulsen had a good debut. Babel's goal was very nice. We haven't shown any of the weekness defensively that plagued us last year and you know what its a new year, new manager, new approach and more football to watch and talk about. I can't get enough LFC at the moment and I like to come on here to hear from some of the knowledgeable fans out there such as yourself. Instead I get this wank pure hatred which is just starting to sound like anti-Liverpool banter. The lad has played one game and he's POOlsen in Brendan's mind forever; even if he comes out and lynchpins a top 3 finish. It really is annoying and I can't believe I am the only one hats put out by it.

Poulsen has looked much better in the second half. I am surprised he lasted this long, I heard Danes tend to lack in stamina.

*whistles and waits*
My problem isn't the stamina I just ejaculate to soon.

POOlsen has been poo
60 minutes.

Oh and after 20 minutes of Pre-Season action so far with Juve and now already making in his full Liverpool-debute you are right to expect the fucking world of him.

You're so tabloid at times it's unreal.
Brendan is being a bit harsh, but he wasnt very good..and the comparisons with Masher's scoring record dont help.

He looks like a player a fourth the quality of Masher, but thankfully thats what we paid.

Hope he improves.

I thought we had two Lucas' on the pitch tonight :-X
You remember the days when Masher paired Lucas then?

I can't think of one single game ever with those two aside eachother which we dominated in such good manner as we did in the second half tonigh.

You guys must be fucking joking..... Probably not but that can be your excuse..

Lucas and Poulsen is NOT the way forward but Gerrard and Poulsen are.

Personally I thought that Polson was as good as two players tonight.

Unfortunately those two players are Lucas and Plessis.
Yup. Mersey, surely you are taking the piss?

Poulsen wasn't good but he can hopefully improve. Let's be clear though, he is NO WHERE near Mascherano's level, whatever combinations people put together.

Lucas was much more concerning. He's still shite.

To be fair to the lad he did well for the penalty.

Sadly, the rest of the game he was either anonymous or popped up to slow the game down, lose the momentum, run around in a circle and then play a 10 yard pass sideways.

Poulsen was equally as poor really, and looked lacking in match fitness. Having said that, he put in some fairly tasty tackles, so that was a positive

I actually thought that Poulson, while being poor in the first half was actually half decent in the second.

He will still need to improve on that if he is to regularly feature but I would be hopeful at this early stage that he might just add a bit of dept to the squad.

In his current role I'd rather give Spearing another go than Lucas. Seriously. I thought he looked quite lively when he came on the other week. A bit of burst to his play and sharp passes.

He just needs better quality players around him and he will really show his class then ???

Poulsen started off alright, went shit, then went betterer at the end. With a bit of fitness and getting to know his team mates, I reckon he might turn out ok. And I agree with KHL, alongside Gerrard, I think you'll see a different player than that tonight. I'd rather keep Mascher though.
Poulsen did OK second half, he will have to up his game a fair bit if we are not to mourn Mascher for months when he goes.
Yes the big increase in tempo in most prem games is a big worry. He looks a plodder. Hopefully its just a lack of sharpness.

Never mind Spearing, Shelvey looks a damn sight better than Lucas.

If Masher goes I sincerely hope that Poulson isn't deemed to be his replacement.
For that hopefully there will be a Defour or someone else of that ilk lined up.

My ratings,

Reina- 6; good game but had little to do
Carragher- 6; some good tackles
Kyriakos- 7; defended well, good chance at the start, worked hard
Kelly- 6; looked good and played full 90 minutes
Aurelio- 6; some good play coming forward, a bit selfish
Poulsen- 6;poor in the first half but improved well in the second, scored
Lucas- 6; woke up when Torres came on; won us a penalty
Cole- 7; responsible for some of the best moves of the game, should have scored
Rodriguez -6; very quite in first half but strong and held up the ball
Jovanovic -7; strong, involved throughout
Babel- 6; poor all first half but excellent goal
Torres- 6; lively at the start of the second half, put the wind up the opposition
Ngog- 5; little impact

I don't know why some posters are so negative, get behind the team and bear in mind that its important to get some of our second tier match sharp. As for transfers Aquilani was surprsing in not even featuring on the bench.

True
Not really.

It's far more important that we use the Masher-money to buy a very good LB and a striker.
