Everton don't play with too much width but will try and unsettle us with set-pieces, so our 3 strong CB's will cope with Cahill, Jelavic, Fellaini etc.

When we have set pieces they won't have enough "Big men" to mark Coates, Agger, Skrtel & Carroll (also Johnson, Gerrard, Kuyt and Suarez who are all decent in the air).

This team selection would win 2-0 with headed goals from Skrtel & Kuyt.

Where is their tough-tackling midfield? If our defence is strong enough we can get away with Gerrard, Kuyt and Glenjo and Downing covering them.

carrick and scholes have disipline and would maintain their position providing a shield for the defense whilst at the same time spraying the ball to the wide players who would do the damage. they are extremely good in possession and rearly conceed possession cheaply. that's pretty much the opposite of gerrard who would venture forwards to create chances and also attempt ambitious passes that would more often than not would result in us losing possession. I'll stop short of saying gerrard is 'poor' in central midfield, I'll instead say he is ten times better in other areas of the pitch so why play him there (Centre midfield), you're blunting his effectiveness and making us wasteful into the bargin.
