Shouldn't we be comparing Lallana to Allen and Coutinho, rather than Henderson?

Lallana, Allen and Coutinho all have the same issue when they play in midfield rather than attack. It means whoever is the left sided attacker needs to stay wide and follow the other team's full back. Sterling for example if he is wide can track the run in a straight line, but if he fucks around infield there is no way that Lallana can track the run by running faster in the longer diagonal line to catch up.

On the opposite side Suso can fuck around and come inside because if their left back decides to get brave Henderson has the legs to get across all game long. Eventually their left back will give up, and Suso can then go wide and take on the broken shadow of what used to be a player.

It's slightly more complicated than the total distance ran. Lallana is an attacking player and always on the move... So he clocks up a lot of kilometers. Henderson isn't always on the move, so the fact he clocks up just as many kilometers is more significant. He must run faster and over longer distances. Lallana can't run than hard, nor can anyone else in the squad. So the point is whoever plays on the right of our attack has better cover and can take a few more liberties with their position.

Lallana is an attacking MIDFIELDER not a striker who runs across the frontline chasing down CBs. He does a lot of tracking back and can be compared to any of Allen, Henderson, Coutinho etc. as in he is busy in midfield and tracking back as much as they are. I don't understand your comment on Henderson either. He is always on the move, if not chasing down the defenders then tracking up and down the right flank.
As far as comparing right and left flanks then I think we also need to look at the input from our two FBs, and as Moreno is a far more attacking FB than Manquillo then it is obvious that our left flank requires more covering that the right.

Suso has plenty of experience though. First game under Rodgers was against the Mancs I think, and he played well.

He wasn't dropped FFS. He came on as a sub. vs 'Boro.

I'd have started him or had him come on as a sub. (between him and Coutinho, BR chose the later) vs Everton however he's in the match day squad for now. When Studge is back it'll be interesting to see if he keeps his place.

If he doesn't get match time and become a regular part of the match day squad, then he'll be off in the Summer.

Which is weird, because against City he was, it makes me think that Brendan is telling him to hold back.

I don't think it's Brendan, he was constantly trying to have a work with him when he could against Boro and Everton. I think he looks a bit out of his depth at the minute, he's not particularly quick looking to me and he looks like he's hiding a fair bit. Seems a bit Aquilani-esque, but it's early days and it takes time to adapt.

Markovic might benefit from "late introduction"from the bench.
