So, does the lad deserve to start where Shelvey has been playing recently?

I can't think why not...

Bar that one pass, he played well.

I mentioned it in the post match thread, I absolutely LOVE how Rodgers rewards youngsters with game time after good performances. I can't remember a Liverpool manager doing it since I started watching actively. I think Sahin will play against Norwich however.

He deserves a go certainly.

Was the pass to Agger really that bad? (I didn't see the replay). It looked as if Agger was the one who fucked it up to me.

I'm delighted he's being explored as an option. He is young, I don't think he'll be playing every game, but he certainly should be getting a few games.

There have been quite a few of us who really see him as the best of the prospects to come from the youths (including Sterling), and he definitely has attributes that Rodgers will love.

He looked better than Sahin but I thought he hid after the penalty, which disappointed me and dramatically reduced our chances of an equalizer. Hope Rodgers can deal with that.

It's great to see the composure and technique that Suso and Sterling bring.

For such young lads, they just seem to have a little extra time on the ball which is the sign of a quick mind and confidence in their own ability.

It's not exactly as if any other manager has found himself in such a parlous position. A month or so ago Rodgers was planning to send Sterling out on loan! The nearest equivalent is Souey, and that went well...

Well, Kenny in his initial spell of his second term as manager wasn't afraid of giving the likes of Flanagan and Robinson a chance...

It was only after Kenny got his own players in that he stopped doing that.

Which will probably be the same with Rodgers if those twats in Boston wake up and help him in the market.

I agree, but the lizards stopping us from buying Dempsey is probably one of the reasons the likes of Suso and Sterling have got their chance.

Thought he did well but was at fault for the first goal and I need to see the 2nd again. However, he did play his part in our goal.

That said, it's a joke he was our first option in a game like today. Talk about a baptism of fire.

United bring on Scholes, Hernandez and Wellbeck. No wonder we are struggling.

wonder why Sahin didn't come on -is he injured? Considering this was a baptism of fire of the highest order against utd with ten men I thought he did really well, you either can handle that sort of pressure or you crumble. He can defo hack it

Not match fit yet

I think Suso is a better option as the wide forward rather than the middle. I think Sahin takes Shelvey's spot for a bit. And, Suso can provide a different option to Borini on the left.

It was a big decision today him giving Suso a go. Suso got on there before Hendo too, which was a big statement.

I think Suso was at the stage where his career could easily have gone one of two ways. If he hadn't got a chance this season he could have faded away. Now I think he'll thrive. It's more down to necessity than design, but the club will benefit in the long run, because he's a special talent.

We had two players out there today in Raheem and Suso who looked comfortable and at home in this massive fixture.

Combined age < Ryan Giggs.

I dont see him playing in the Shelvey/Gerrard position, i think the midfield will be reshuffled to put Gerrard as the most attacking and have Henderson/Sahin play alongside Allen depending on form and fitnees.

Suso looks more comfortable further forward so i would play him as part of the front 3 because he is still very much on a learning curve a giving the ball away further up the park is less likely to do damage to us

Really interested to see how Sahin will slot in when fit, from what Ive seen hes a classier version of Allen so hopefully the two should compliment each other well. It will also free Gerrard a bit more to get involved further forward

He's a kid, playing his second game, against the biggest club in the country. To expect anythign more than the odd fleeting bit of skill out of him yesterday, or for the rest of the season is being grossly unfair.

If we're going to afford multi-million pound players like Borini, Henderson, Skrtel, etc years to acclimatise then we need to cut 17 year old children a bit of slack.

If he does more than the odd bit of magic then we should be happy enough with that at this stage of his career.

He shyed away alot from receiving the ball in the last 20 mins when he could easily have shown. I was suprised and disappointed to see this as he looks full of confidence but there is definitely enough there to warrant another chance soon.

I thought he linked up with Suarez very well. They were on the same wavelength. It's amazing how a young Spanish lad instantly finds better mutual understanding with Suarez in his first game than a couple of England internationals who played with Suarez in the attacking line for a whole season.

I think the injury to Borini should be an opportunity for Suso. Like I said before, I am more impressed by his dribbling and touch than his passing, so maybe at this point he belongs on the wing rather than in the middle. The only concern I have, playing Sterling and Suso on the wings at the same time might make us too lightweight and inexperienced. I'd rather have an experienced player on one wing and either Sterling or Suso on the other. Too bad our only experienced winger is a Downing.

To be honest the young kids probably watch everything Suarez does with awe and want to emulate it, which is probably why they can pick up such a good understanding with him. As for Suso, he did great, he should be proud. I'd like to see him on the wing though, I think he's much better there for us at the moment. I'd love to see a front three of Suso-Suarez-Sterling, just to see how they click.
