Lucas Moura

Lucas Moura has ruled out the idea of any talks over Liverpool transfer having taken place. In a press conference before a charity match, the PSG winger has dismissed the rumours which linked him to Jurgen Klopp’s club.
Most of the links between Lucas Moura and Liverpool happened in March. Sky Sports have revived it again in the past few days, as they evaluated the possibility of the transfer, and the Brazilian press took it as a chance to ask the player about it.

“I know nothing, I’m only aware of what’s been on internet by the press,” Lucas Moura told the journalists (via Globo Esporte).
“There were no contacts with me, it’s only speculation.”
Lucas Moura made 56 appearances last season, with only 13 goals and 5 assists. He never really became the player that people expected him to be, being compared to Neymar during their early years in Brazil, but has been proving himself to be a decent part of PSG’s squad.
Despite being often linked to English clubs, Lucas always says he wants to stay at PSG as he’s happy there. With the managerial change in the Brazilian national team, he sees the French club as his best opportunity to win his place in the Seleção back.

That's a shame... I'd have really liked Lucas Mk II - However as I said before, the club is only big enough for one.

Twitter rumours (originating from O Jogo it seems) that we're looking at a relatively cut-price deal for Ruben Neves of Porto (release clause of €40m).

As much as I'm normally suspicious of buying players from Portugal, this guy is well worth it. Great long-range pass on him.

Porto may have to sell two of their youngsters to fit in with financial fair play, as there’s a gap of a few million to make up to settle the accounts. Ruben Neves and Rui Pedro haven’t been impressing much, and according to O Jogo, the destination of both of them could be in England.
O Jogo mention Liverpool as a club who admire Neves, as Manchester United and Chelsea were also linked to the player in the past. But they don’t reveal any names who could be interested in Rui Pedro for now.

Liverpool’s interest in Ruben Neves isn’t something new, as reports from last season said Jurgen Klopp was keen and keeping an eye on the midfielder and some stories even said that Porto told the Reds to forget about signing the youngster. But after a poorer end to season from the 19-year-old, it looks like things have turned around now.

Neves has a €40m release clause, and Rui Pedro has just renewed his contract and is now protected by a €30m buyout clause. Neither of the players have been important pieces of the team, so Porto know they would never get those amounts for them. It may be a good time to snap up the undoubtedly talented Neves for a bargain fee.

Everton have had a 30m bid accepted for Witsel....cunts. we should be in for him.

Havent been agreed yet according to the Belgian journos. Napoli also want him.

30 mill £ when he's got 1 year left on his contract is mad. Soon to be 28 aswell and not THAT good.

I'm not sure age should be a big factor here, I reckon he should have another 4-5 years left at the top level. He doesn't turn 28 until January anyways.

I think he would be an ideal midfield compliment to Can personally.

Yeah, I like him aswell but 30 mill is crazy.

Not in today's market when Watford are turning down 38m for ighalo
Yeah, exactly. In that market 30M is almost a bargain.

I think our squad has talented players and experienced players, but not a lot of talented experienced players. Despite the cost, Witsel would be the ideal type of player to bridge that gap. .

30 mill isnt a bargain when he's got 1 year left on his contract.

Gundogan moved for 20 mill under similar circumstances.

For 30 mill we might get Dahoud.

I'm a big fan of Gundogan, but he has a ton of question marks. He's missed a lot of matches, and if he doesn't get off to a fast start at City he could easily be shipped out for pennies next season. I like Dahoud as well, but I think we badly need some experience/established players who are at the top of their game in the first team.

I would also argue that Witsel may have "low mileage" on him at the age of 27, since he's played in the Russian/Portuguese/Belgian leagues. So with less wear on his body, age is less of a concern.

Wasnt it 25 mill? And he had 4 years left on his contract I think.

You're right, the number I was looking at was in Euros. It's still a favorable comparison though.

I mean the years remaining on contract are purely an opportunistic thing. If circumstances mean Witsel had 4 years left, but was available for 30M, would it really make a difference?

At the end of the day we pay 30M for Witsel one way or another in either scenario. And from the perspective of available players on the world market, 30M for Witsel is excellent value given the quotes out there for other players.

£220,000 a week for bum fluff face imbrohimobitch, Premiership is a few steps up from the Mikey mouse French league but I'm sure he'll sell plenty of scum shirts.

They will easily earn at least €50m.

Telegraph etc saying City will win the race for Stones paying 50 mill. 50 mill for that overrated error prone player.
Insane.
