Another young prospect to be signed by Villa.

Aston Villa are set to sign highly-rated Dutch midfielder Leandro Bacuna.

The Holland Under-21 international moves to Villa Park from FC Groningen.

Bacuna was at Villa to undertake a medical today before completing his switch.

Despite only being 21, Bacuna has made over 100 appearances for Groningen since making his debut in 2009.

Bacuna is most comfortable in midfield, but can also operate as a wing back on either side

Rumours that Barca's €23m offer for Samir Handanovic has been rejected, with Inter looking for €30m.

Earlier on TalkSport their Spanish correspondent (a gobby Jocko slaphead by the name of Graeme Hunter) was talking up the possibility of Torres going to Barca.

Isn't he in his late 20s? That's an awful lot of money for a keeper that age ... I saw a few Inter games last year, and he looks solid - but I don't know if 23 million 'solid.'

It does make sense they'd be looking elsewhere with Ter Stegen heading to us.

Wizzy. Ive been through that whole thread, and everyone like it.
This conversation you are talking about never took place.

Yet another good find from the Udinese scouting system. Moved to Inter for €11M. Turning 29 this yr. If these rumours are true, then Barca probably switched their rumoured plan for a stop gap + young goalie to takeover to a longer term replacement.

Everton have had a £7M bid for striker Andreas Cornelius rejected by Danish champions FC København.

United linked with both Strootman and Isco today.

Isco they won't get - he's either going with papa pellegrini, or going to Madrid.

Strootman was caught interviewed on 101gg (my mate!) and he basically dodged that question twice. He'd be a good signing for them, and I hope if he does go there, I was 100% wrong about him!

l'Equipe say that Monaco are now targeting Hulk. They mention a figure of 45 million euros for him.

Best case scenario for us is Lewandoski to Barca (staying away from Manure, or City), Cavani & Bale go to Madrid, and Ronaldo goes to Monaco ...

Tottenham placed a 24m € bid for Inter's Guarin and Pereira. Inter seem not keen to sell at that price, should be rejected

Looks like AVB is keen for a reunion with his ex-players.

Lambert is quietly going about building an effective Villa team. Transfers this summer: Leandro Bacuna, Jores Okore, Nicklas Helenius, Tonev.

All of them appear to be promising youngsters. I think Villa will cement themselves as a top 10 team this season and then push on from there.

"It’s true, Napoli among other clubs called me,” confirmed the agent of Lyon midfielder Maxime Gonalons.

Representative Frederic Guerra spoke to Le Parisien newspaper this weekend.

“It’s true, Napoli among other clubs called me, but I cannot tell you at this moment whether the player is interested in a move.

“That is only because we haven’t discussed it yet. We will talk things over when he returns from his summer vacation.”

French international Gonalons is one of the transfer targets picked by new Napoli Coach Rafa Benitez.

The 24-year-old midfielder has been at Lyon for four seasons, notching up 35 Ligue 1 games this term with three goals.

MANCHESTER United are attempting to hijack Chelsea’s £15million move for Dutch wonderkid Marco van Ginkel.

Old Trafford chief scout Jim Lawlor has flown to Turkey to watch the 20-year-old Vitesse Arnhem midfielder in action for Holland in the European Under 21s championship.

Van Ginkel, who has been on Chelsea and Dutch giants Ajax’s wish list for some time, impressed Lawlor and now United have joined the scramble to sign him.

The problem for United is that Chelsea have a tie up with Vitesse Arnhem, meaning they have first option on their players.

Returning Stamford Bridge boss Jose Mourinho knows he is expected to bring in younger players and Van Ginkel fits the bill.

Ajax have been blown out of the water by the fee being discussed, but it’s one that won’t put off new United manager David Moyes, though the Scot’s number one midfield target is Barcelona’s Cesc Fabregas.

Moyes is prepared to pay £40m if the Spanish champions indicate they are willing to sell the Spaniard.

Real Madrid’s Luka Modric is also on the United manager’s radar and he is closing in on a £17m deal for Benfica central defender Ezequiel Garay.

Nicklas Helenius is expected to be the next signing for Aston Villa having traveled to Birmingham this morning. The 22-year-old striker will cost the Villans around £2M.

New signing Okore mentioned that one of the main reasons for him to pick Villa was Paul Lambert whom apparently said all the right things and got quite an interesting plan with the team. He's is quite highly rated on here by some if I am not mistaken isn't he?

22-year-old Sevilla defender Antonio Luna also said to be a done deal. Turned out for Mallorca last Season.

Fuck me, I hope not. Hopefully they'll get relegated.

Fabio Borini's agent has dismissed rumours that the Liverpool forward could join Napoli over the summer.

The Italy international has been linked with a move back to Serie A, with both the Partenopei and Fiorentina reportedly interested in his services.

But the striker's representative has claimed that those stories have no grain of truth.

“[Rafa] Benitez is a great Coach,” Marco De Marchi told Radio Crc. “He has shown that at all his clubs.

“But Napoli have been linked with Strootman and Mertens, and don't forget that they have Insigne as well, who has great potential.

“I haven't been contracted by Napoli, so at the moment I don't think that's an option for Borini.”
