If FC Porto earn another €5m euros from transfer fees this summer they'll break their record revenue for a transfer window, from 2004. That summer they made €75.1m selling 5 players after winning Champions League. This summer already made €70m on sale of Moutinho/James.

The Gunners have accepted Malagas approach to buy Nicklas Bendtner. A move is now supposedly in the hands of the player, who is also said to be considering bids from the Bundesliga and the Premiership.

There have been signs over the past few days that Edinson Cavani may be the one to reinforce Real Madrid's front line. Yesterday, 'La Gazzetta dello Sport' reported that Rafa Benítez is looking to include Álvaro Morata in the transaction.

However, another name has cropped up along with the youngster's during the last few hours. It is none other than Sami Khedira, who the German media claim has also been requested by the Spanish manager, who recently landed in San Paolo.

If both players are included in the deal, it would significantly reduce Cavani's transfer fee. His release clause will go up to €63 million on 30th June.

The Gunners are leading the chase for Spain Under 21 international Asier Illarramendi. The £10million-rated Real Sociedad defensive midfielder has been outstanding all season and has attracted attention from Real Madrid.

Paris St-Germain turn to Capello after failing to secure Villas-Boas

Paris Saint-Germain have turned to Fabio Capello to be their manager next season, after André Villas-Boas resisted their overtures to remain loyal to Tottenham Hotspur.
The French champions have been seeking a replacement for Carlo Ancelotti, who is primed to succeed José Mourinho at Real Madrid, and, after what amounted to a whirlwind trawl of possible candidates, they attempted to lure Villas-Boas from White Hart Lane.
Villas-Boas's representative, Carlos Goncalves, listened over the weekend to the proposals of PSG, who are bankrolled by Qatar Sports Investments, but Villas-Boas did not give them the encouragement that they wanted.
He has said that he wants to enter a second season at the same club for the first time in his short but spectacular managerial career and he continues to be committed to the project at Tottenham. The club, who are ready to announce the appointment of Franco Baldini in the post of technical director, promise to be active in the summer transfer market.
Capello, the former England manager, has been PSG's fall-back option. He signed a two-year contract in July 2012 to manage Russia and he has them set fair to qualify for the World Cup finals in Brazil. But PSG have reportedly paid his €3m (£2.6m) release clause to secure his services on a one-year contract.
There remains the possibility that Capello could return to the international scene at the end of the season to take Russia to the World Cup.
More intriguing is the notion that Capello would be a stop-gap appointment and that PSG will try to tempt Arsène Wenger to the club when his current Arsenal contract expires next summer. PSG's president, Nasser al-Khelaifi, is the general manager of al-Jazeera Sport, the Qatar-owned TV station; he employs Wenger as a pundit and he has a good relationship with him.
Al-Khelaifi tried unsuccessfully to take Wenger from Arsenal in the summer of 2011 and further soundings towards the end of last season once again failed to turn his head. Wenger has always respected his contracts and Ivan Gazidis, the Arsenal chief executive, has made it clear that he wants the Frenchman to sign a new long-term deal at the club.

Newcastle chief scout Graham Carr is considering his position at the club after managing director Derek Llambias quit following the return to St James' Park of Joe Kinnear.

Mmm is it worth giving this guy a job if he quits, he's scouted some talent in the last few years..

Didn't we just hire a load of new scouts from City, agree he has been instrumental for them. I'm sure he will be snapped up pretty quick

Anybody know what happened to Utds goalkeeping coach after he was sacked by Moyes, he was to be highly regarded, we could use a new goalie coach

Losing Carr for Joke In Ear will be a VERY bad bargain for them if it happens. It's true we've fetched in a couple of scouts from Citeh but I definitely think we should find, or even create, a role for somebody with a record for talent-spotting like Carr's.

Higuain to Arsenal - done deal it seems ... Betting suspended on SkyBet.

I think he'll hit 20 easy for them next year - great pick up.

Not a rumor but Ajax are out of the Maher hunt.

Was being touted as potential replacement for Christian Eriksen, but De Boer has now stated they have contacted AZ and informed them, that they are no longer interested in the player.

Matej Vydra's agent has insisted that the Udinese forward is currently in negotiations with German club Werder Bremen.

The Czech youngster was a revelation during his loan spell at Watford last term, being named Championship Player of the Season.

But the 21-year-old's representative has admitted that the striker would love the chance to play in the Bundesliga.

“We have been in contact with Werder Bremen for two-three weeks,” Ondrej Chovanec told Bild.

“Matej thinks the Bundesliga is currently the best in the world, and he would love to move there.

“A loan move with the right to buy would be the best solution for everyone.

“Udinese will make the final decision though.”

Rumours going online that Thiago Alcântara to Man Utd is a done deal and will be announced soon

Gonzalo Higuaín has reached an agreement in principle with Arsenal over personal terms on a four-year contract worth £130,000-a-week.

The 25-year-old stands to become Arsenal's first £20m-plus player. The club's current record signing is Andrey Arshavin at £15m.

I hope this might pour some cold water on the Arsene doesn't like to spend money theory

Yep. I'll be gutted. Anytime i've seen him play he's been sublime.

I've a feeling Kagawa will kick on this season too. Urghhhh.

I'd think Barca will include a buy back option for him. That said, if its an activation of release clause as rumoured, then Barca won't have the right to add/demand that, do they?

I bet he can 't wait to win fuck all

They need to spend 20M on a defender to play alongside Koscielny, and then another 20M each on full-backs and a goalkeeper before I'll worry about them in the slightest.
