Cardiff City are lining up a move for former Everton defender Joseph Yobo, according to walesonline.co.uk.

The 32-year-old is thought to be unhappy at Fenerbahce.

Valencia are reportedly in advanced talks with Giovani dos Santos over a summer transfer and have placed an offer with his club Mallorca.

The Mexican international is set to leave the Iberostar Stadium this coming transfer window following on from Los Bermellones’ relegation from La Liga.

Los Che are reportedly keen to capture the 24-year-old former Barcelona youth and are apparently already in advanced talks with the player himself over a proposed deal.

Miroslav Djukic’s new team are said to have matched that with an offer of €6.7m to Mallorca for his playing rights.

Whilst Mallorca are seen as ready to wait for all offers to come in this summer before accepting the highest, Valencia are seen as holding an advantage in having Giovani allegedly already in agreement over the move.

Wonder if this will result in a swap of Cavani for Torres + cash.

Napoli: Chelsea interested in Cavani
June 6, 2013

Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has confirmed Chelsea are interested in Edinson Cavani, and is expecting negotiations to take place "in the next few hours".

Cavani has been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge for many months but Chelsea must activate a €63 million release clause in the Uruguay international's contract.

Incoming Blues boss Jose Mourinho is evidently a keen admirer of the striker and De Laurentiis hinted that a deal may be agreed upon in the coming days.

"The budget for the transfer market will be based in relation to the Financial Fair Play rules," De Laurentiis told Radio Marte.

"If Cavani is sold then I’ll reinvest all of the €63 million of his rescission clause. There is interest from Chelsea in Cavani, they’ll call me in the next few hours.

"I'll be delighted if he stays, but if he leaves then he will be adequately replaced."

Meanwhile, Juan Zuniga has been linked with Inter and Juventus recently, but De Laurentiis insists the winger is going nowhere this summer.

"Zuniga will stay at Napoli. I won’t sell him - not even for €25m."

Benfica are said to hold an interest in Atletico Madrid full-back Emiliano Insua, although a clause may block any move.

The Argentine signed for Atleti just six months ago from Sporting CP, during the winter transfer window.

However, in light of Filipe Luis’ form ahead of him, the 24-year-old has seen limited playing time.

It is a situation that has both Los Colchoneros and the player open to a transfer out, and Benfica are seemingly first in line.

Insua is reported by A Bola to be the Portuguese side’s primary objective at full-back, at the express request of Coach Jorge Jesus.

However, a stumbling block apparently comes in the form of a penalty clause inserted into Insua’s deal to join Atletico. If he were to return to Portugal to play for another team, Sporting can reportedly claim a payment of €10m.

Interesting clause.

Man Utd linked to Cabaye.

Moyes is on a mission to turn them into an over-priced Everton.

Chelsea are set to return with an improved offer for Napoli striker Edinson Cavani after seeing their opening gambit rejected on Friday.

Talks between both clubs progressed at a rapid pace and saw the Stamford Bridge club make the huge cash plus player offer.

The £40million offer was enhanced by the inclusion of goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois who was on loan at Atletico Madrid last season

But Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentiis turned down the lucrative package, telling Chelsea they will not sell Cavani for a penny less than his £53m release clause.

Discussions will continue this weekend and there were even indications yesterday that Chelsea may consider using Fernando Torres as part of the deal to bring the Uruguay international to London.

Sealing a swoop for Cavani would see Chelsea upgrade their financial boundaries yet again during the Roman Abramovich era.
Should they meet Cavani's release clause, the fee would eclipse the £50million paid to Liverpool for Torres in 2011.

Likewise, Cavani wants £256,000-per-week at his next club, a wage that would comfortably make him the club's best paid player.

La Gazzetta dello Sport claims Milan are considering a €40m Manchester City offer for Stephan El Shaarawy, while Chelsea want Kevin-Prince Boateng.

The front page of Italy’s famous pink sports paper suggests the Rossoneri would be prepared to part with their 20-year-old forward.

Until now the club has turned down several bids for ‘The Little Pharaoh,’ who cost them approximately €15.5m to sign from Genoa.

He was Serie A top scorer during the first half of the season, then hit a dry patch once Mario Balotelli arrived, but still managing 16 goals in 37 games.

El Shaarawy had also been linked with Arsenal and Manchester United, but La Gazzetta dello Sport maintains Milan are finally prepared to release him for €40m - £34m.

He isn’t the only player reportedly heading to the Premier League, as there are also claims Jose Mourinho wants Boateng at Chelsea.

Robinho is waiting for offers from Brazil, while 36-year-old captain Massimo Ambrosini is increasingly likely to join West Ham United for the twilight years of his career.

are these players that city are spending big on really top class ?

El Shaarway has looked pretty good when I've seen him but a bit raw so definitely not the finished article.

City's business has confused me especially last season - perhaps they realized after being knocked back by a few top class talents that they still can't quite compete with the other top clubs.

You can see why their scouting team quit. What's the use of scouts when the policy is just to go out and buy the biggest names out there time after time? You don't need a scout for them; you just need a cheque book.

Mirror rumors:

- Di Maria a 30 mill target for City.
- Chelsea ahead of Manure for Porto’s Eliaquim Mangala
- Ba's 5 month Chelsea career may soon be ending as they're bringing in 14 new strikers
- Ladurup wants Kone, and is worried if it's not done quick Everton and Liverpool will step in
- Arsenal are favorites to land Higuain

Roman probably had to promise Mourinho a shedload of transfer cash to spend in order to lure him back. It may be that Mourinho has someone even better (or so he thinks anyway) in mind.
