Negotiations continue between Juventus and Real Madrid for Gonzalo Higuaín. 'La Gazzetta dello Sport' reports that the Italian side has offered €22 million for the Argentinean, but Florentino Pérez is not prepared to go below the €30 million mark.

The Argentinean striker has already stated his intention to leave 'Los Blancos' and acknowledged the existence of several offers, one of them being from Juventus. It looks like Pipita's days at Real Madrid are numbered, although there is every indication that Madrid will not let him leave if it does not receive a satisfactory offer.

I believe Jesus Navas deal to #City now fully agreed at €23m + €4m variables. Good luck catching him next season

http://www.sevillafc.es/nuevaweb/actualidad/noticias/29174

A Sevilla statement said: “On Monday we accepted an offer from Manchester City. The player will now have a medical.

“Navas has spent 10 seasons in the first team and his performances rank him among our best-ever players.

“The player wants to continue his successful career in English football, more specifically at a club where he can continue to grow as a player.”

The Sevilla and Spain winger is close to a deal that will take him to the Premier League for £17m, plus a further £4.6m based on performances, of which the Spanish club believe £2.9m is virtually guaranteed.

Jesus Navas to join City subject to medical. Bit out of the blue that (no pun intended)

Was he even linked with them?

The links began around the same time when Pellegrini got linked with the job, long with the Isco ones. Besides, with the 2 Spanish directors, they were always likely to make moves in La Liga.

Interesting point from Sid Lowe:

Navas will bring City pace on the right wing, the ability to take on full-backs and deliver telling passes. He has provided 79 chances in the Spanish league this season, the fifth highest total in the country.

His signing is an intriguing one because Pellegrini has rarely played with out-and-out wingers, usually preferring his "wide" men to come inside. Navas could undergo the kind of evolution that Joaquín experienced under Pellegrini at Málaga. Joaquín was encouraged to move towards the middle and ended up playing behind the striker. Navas's game has also been altered slightly in his final season at Sevilla, becoming involved in more central positions in the absence of a natural playmaker.

Rafa linked again today with Skrtel, Felliani & Gomez (all 3 would be awesome for him imo).

City linked with Pepe (that cunt from Real Madrid)

Has Gomez not actually signed yet then?

Although I fucking hate him and it's nice to only see him infrequently, it would be interesting to see how Pepe adapted to the Premiership. He's got all the attributes but I wonder if he'd get away with some of the shit he pulls over there.

Back to Christian Benteke and his Belgian teammate Thibault Courtois believes he could replace Radamel Falcao at Atletico. He said: "I think that he could be a great signing for Atletico. During these days with the national team and I'm going to ask him about his future."

FULHAM are on the verge of completing a £3million deal for Roma keeper Maarten Stekelenburg.

The Holland international saw a move to Craven Cottage fall through on the final day of the January transfer window.

However, boss Martin Jol has reignited his interest in the 30-year-old, who now looks set to complete a switch to SW6.

Roma's sporting director Franco Baldini confirmed that terms had been agreed for Stekelenburg, who played under Jol at Ajax.

"I went to London for the sale of Stekelenburg at Fulham," Baldini told Corriere dello Sport. "There were questions to be answered but I closed a deal subject to the usual conditions."

Stekelenburg's arrival at the Cottage casts serious doubt over the future of Mark Schwarzer.

The veteran Aussie is out of contract this summer and has so far failed to agree an extension.

Manchester City are ready to test Real Madrid’s resolve this week by offering them €25m for central defender Pepe.

AS reports that the Premier League outfit plan to meet Madrid officials to thrash out a possible deal that would see the Portuguese international double his earnings at the Etihad Stadium. Pepe currently takes home €3.5m-a-year but the Blues are prepared to go as high as €7m to tempt him to England.

Stevan Jovetic, Emiliano Viviano, Adem Ljajic and David Pizarro are all missing from Fiorentina’s 2013-14 season ticket promotional poster.

The absence of the quartet is being viewed as significant given the uncertain futures of all four players in Tuscany.

Montenegro ace Jovetic is thought to have asked for a transfer, with Juventus and a number of English clubs keen.

Goalkeeper and Fiorentina fan Viviano, who was on loan from Palermo, may not be signed outright by the Viola.

Revelation Ljajic has just 12 months left on his contract, while Pizarro has asked for a transfer away from the Stadio Franchi.

The ‘Enjoy the Spectacle’ campaign does feature Giuseppe Rossi, Alberto Aquilani, Juan Cuadrado, Borja Valero, Stefan Savic, Gonzalo Rodriguez and captain Manuel Pasqual.

Sevilla president claims the club have rejected a 17m euro offer from West Ham for striker Alvaro Negredo.

Can't see West Ham signing both him and Andy Carroll. AC better make a decision fast!

Dzeko odds-on for Chelsea move

Edin Dzeko has been backed into 8/11 with Sky Bet to be Jose Mourinho's first signing after his return to Chelsea.

Mourinho signed a four-year deal at Stamford Bridge on Monday, taking the reins of the club he steered to successive Premier League titles before his sacking in 2007.

Manchester City striker Dzeko has long been linked with an exit from the Etihad Stadium, with the Bosnian's desire for regular first-team football seeing him linked with some of Europe's biggest clubs.

A sustained run of bets on Tuesday morning has seen Dzeko backed from 20/1 into 8/11 to join Chelsea by the end of the summer transfer window.

Sky Bet's Richard Evison says: "All the money today seems to signal Edin Dzeko is set to a surprise switch to Stamford Bridge. The money has come following the appointment of Jose Mourinho, who maybe in the market for a big target man.

"We were 20/1 earlier this morning, but cutting the price has not put people off and we have been forced to cut the price to 8/11. City are currently 2/1 for the Premier League with Chelsea 9/4, will they be willing to sell to their potential title rivals?"

Rumours that Mourinho might actually let Lukaku leave Chelsea (I'd be surprised).

Two years too late, but I'd still love him at Anfield.

Would be an incredible signing ... and it would never happen. Better chance of Suarez ending up at Manure.

It's Marca ... and they hate Mourinho probably ... but they're saying Torres and Mata are up for sale and he wants to bring in two strikers (Dzeko? Jovetvic?)

The Negredo story isnt true apperantly. No bid was made.

Come on Andy! Grab the pen and get on with it

Looks like the offer was made in April.

Sevilla are seen as needing to sell this summer to service a €50m debt, but Del Nido indicated that no-one else will be sold unless a big offer comes in.

“There are a number of variables per player and also some contractual. We have no need to sell.

“But our project has always been known that when an off-market offer for a player comes in, we sell them.

“Who are we going to sell? All the offers that have arrived have been rejected.

“Negredo? He has four years left on his contract. He is at home here. He has scored goals in a cluster, has delighted us with his football, has shown that he is a great player.

“The summer will determine if he stays with us or not. If you ask my opinion, I’d rather an off-market bid doesn’t arrive.

“When he scored his 16th goal of the season against Athletic, West Ham offered €17m in cash plus three incentives. We did not appreciate that offer and the player refused.”
