Is it tactics or are we just immensely poor at putting the ball in the net.

We are so desperately in need of someone who just scores goals and nothing else; two of them would be even better.


That was something of a flashback to a couple of years ago, however; toothless and disjointed.

We were shite... absolutely incompetent attacking display.

Stoke are a truly god-awful team.... and containing us was easy for them.

this is down to tactics and personnel.... our tactics were shit... and the personnel we've assembled to gte results is shit.

It's not the end of the world.... but this is a common theme.... and Dalglish, Clarke & Commoli are all culpable.

Both. And I'd add that immensely poor at creating clear cut chances.

How many did we have today? 1?

You can't expect to win games by taking pot shots from 30 yards out, floating hopeful crosses into no one and creating one decent chance in 90mins.

When you play Stoke at home and come up with that setup its worrying. We had something like 70% of possession and their keeper didnt have one save of note to make that I can remember.

5 at the back and Kuyt as a lone striker. At home. To Stoke.

Of course having a dearth of attacking talent doesn't help (although if we hadn't been so wasteful in the transfer market then this may not be the case), but there's no doubt it was compounded by our approach to the game. I'm really struggling to understand what Kenny was thinking.

Its fucking annoying when people stop passing the ball, but instaed walks the ball over to the next man. We had absolutely no pace on the ball and no movement off the ball today. Stoke wanted that and they got it.

The tactics were awful, the set up was wrong, the subs were wrong and Kennys inability to change it during the game was frustrating as fuck.

3-5-1-1 against Stoke at home. No one in the box, overcrowding the midfield and Kuyt upfront.

i watched the first 10mins and just knew we had no chance of scoring.....fall asleep , woke up just now and as expected we hadn't scored. And that's what frustrates so much , we can all see it but nothing is changing . same old same old .

He is waning alright but he was never shite for us. He's had poor games for sure but he isn't an automatic first teamer this season and will gradually play less and less. If Suarez was available he wouldn't have started.

I'm a huge Dirk fan, always have, always will be. He does seem out of sorts of late but he didnt do much wrong today. He was up front on his own with little to no support until Carroll came on, which didn't even help him.

The service our "strikers" have gotten recently has been pretty dire in general. That said, our midfield has also been hampered by playing behind guys that struggle to a) trap a ball and b) do anything useful with it so I suppose it kinda goes both ways.

Yeah he missed that chance. I was pissed off at the time too. People miss chances mate. Suarez and Carroll have missed them this season too. I meant he didn't do too much wrong in his performance as a whole, he didn't have any real support. He should have scored that goal though.
