Playing devil's advocate here, sterling is obviously a thick little cunt with about 3 brain cells, so I think a lot of this posturing is coming from aidy ward. He'll be the one telling him exactly what to do, 'don't put a transfer request in', 'don't sign that contract', 'I'll sort you out a bbc interview', 'tell them you don't want to go on the tour'.
He must have one of the most immature, incapable agents of all time. If he'd have wanted out, he could have got out, with pretty much no fuss and come out smelling of roses, instead, his agent has made himself, sterling, us, and city, all look like cunts.
Sterling wanted a move, and a proper agent would have got him one, nice and easily, with a good deal for everyone.

^^THIS

As aldo stated "hes too young to think for himself so his agent is doing it for him"

looks like his agent cant think very lucidly either.

Raheem Sterling risks damaging his reputation with Liverpool saga, says Jamie Carragher

Raheem Sterling risks carving out a bad reputation for himself over his reported Liverpool snub, says Jamie Carragher.
Several UK newspapers reported on Wednesday that the 20-year-old, who returned to training on Tuesday, told Liverpool he would not be going on their pre-season tour.

Last month Manchester City had a £40m bid rejected by Liverpool, and Sky Sports pundit Carragher suggests this latest chapter in the saga may have been instigated by City rather than Sterling himself.

"Reports today suggest Raheem Sterling has told Brendan Rodgers he doesn't want to go away on the pre-season tour," he wrote on Kicca.

"This at times comes from the club who are chasing the player - in this case Man City - who ask a player to try and force the move after having two bids that were unsuccessful.

"All clubs at times have asked a player to push a move through but even so it's still a story that doesn't reflect well on Raheem."

Sterling has already told Liverpool he will not be signing a new contract, with Chelsea also interested in a deal for the 20-year-old.

But Carragher believes the ongoing saga could do long-term damage to the England international’s image.

"He's starting to get a reputation that could be hard to rid himself of in the future," he added.

"Are Man City fans looking at the situation and 'thinking this could be us in a few years'?

"I think this situation will only make Liverpool more determined to get the fee they feel Raheem is worth rather than caving in to Raheem's & Man City's wishes."

Sky Sports News HQ understands Chelsea are also interested in Sterling but are not prepared to meet Liverpool's £50m valuation of the player.

Reds manager Brendan Rodgers remains adamant he is not for sale.

I'm impressed how consistently stupid Sterling and Ward are coming across in this. Pretty much the worst thing he could do was to start acting petulantly because as Carragher said, that's only going to harden the club's resolve. What a prat.

Yeah I was thinking that - Only I'm more into using more colourful terms - I'd say he was acting like a 'fucking dozy clueless bellend'.

The club is rather quiet about this. Rodgers or FSG haven't said anything this summer as far as I'm aware.
As I said before, it'd be hilarious if FSG came out and said he is not going anywhere this summer.

Aidy trying a different tact, to repair the sterling-club relationship, but put a wedge between sterling and rodgers?
Too late for damage limitation dickhead.
Rodgers has made sterling's career the fucking idiot. Without rodgers, he'd be rotting in our rezzies or playing for a midtable team. Rodger's gave him 30+ games a year, for several years, when he was a kid (for a top 6 team), played him when he was out of form, and played him when the were better options. I doubt he'd get those sort of luxury's at every club, and he for sure wont get them at city.

Hes full of shit, dirty trick to dirtier trick. What a scumbag, and the sad thing is a few people will buy into this crap.

Brodgers claimed a couple of months ago that there was no way Sterling would be sold his summer, that they wouldn't be accepting any bids, and all was good cos he'd had Sterling round for dinner at his place.

Looks like your fucking face-stroking didn't work this time Brodge.

This from just over a year ago:

"[Rodgers] has been a breath of fresh air really. He helps me a lot with not just my football but if I need someone to talk to about off the field then he's there for me. He's helped me massively, especially on the pitch as well, so I have to give credit to him and thank him a lot."

I guess Ward has told him he needs to make it impossible for Rodgers to keep playing him. Talk about shameless tactics.

We were told he wouldn't be sold regardless of other clubs interest Mark. Let's see if the club is as true to it's word as this kid is...

Brendan Rodgers is adamant Liverpool will not sell Raheem Sterling this summer - even if the winger doesn't sign a new Anfield contract, as reported by the Liverpool Echo.

Sterling turned down the Reds' offer of a five-year deal worth £100k- a- week and shelved further talks until after the end of the season.

The 20-year-old - who claims to be motivated by trophies rather than money - has since found himself linked with a host of rival clubs at home and abroad, and confessed in an unauthorised interview with the BBC that he was 'flattered' by Arsenal's apparent interest.

However Rodgers, the Liverpool manager, insists Sterling is staying put and says he is counting on the young England star for next season.

“We’re still pretty relaxed on it [the contract situation],” the Ulsterman said.

“The club will pick it up again with Raheem’s representatives in the summer.

“Everyone wants to win trophies and play in the big competitions. We will just reinforce what our stance has been all along.

“This is the best club for him at this moment where he has the opportunity to play, to fight and to be competitive.”

Liverpool dug their heels when Luis Suarez tried to force a move to Arsenal in 2013, eventually tying the Uruguayan to a new long-term deal before selling him to Barcelona for a much more sizeable fee last summer.

And Rodgers is adamant the club will stand firm again in regards to Sterling, who still has two years to run on his existing contract.

“We’ve made that clear,” the 42-year-old said.

“The owners are very much supportive of that. Raheem won’t be going anywhere in the summer, even if there isn’t a deal agreed.”

Sterling recently attracted negative headlines after being pictured smoking from a shisha pipe and then inhaling laughing gas.

Rodgers reveals the pair discussed the incident over dinner at his house.

“He came around the house and we had a good chat on a personal level as well,” the former youth coach said.

“It’s not just on the football side as it’s about the welfare of the boy as well because he’s still a young lad and has been through a lot in the past couple of years.

“I think he’s in a good place at the moment. It’s about helping him and making sure that everything is right outside of his football.

“He looks a lot more relaxed than he has done for a while. He looks comfortable in himself again.”[/article]

Amazing. So he's gone from saying he wants to stay and have a song in his honour, to wanting to leave to win trophies, to wanting to leave because of the manager. What next? He hates wearing red?

Probably doesn't like him because in his eyes Rodgers has hung his mate Aidy Ward out to dry ..

oooh Steady now...

Part of me has always wondered if some teenage petulant side to Sterling has forgiven BR for bawling him out on the American tour on that shitful programme. Maybe he didn't. When I was a petulant teenager I hated a Biology teacher who everyone else loved for years because he did something similar.

Heh, I've wondered the exact same thing, and it came to mind when I read that 'he doesn't like Brodge' thing above.

He seems like a reasonably sensible kid Sterling. Sure his agent's a fucking knob and he's an out-of-touch young footballer, but he's always come across as somewhat ok. Maybe he just looks at this grown man talking absolute fucking muck at him whilst stroking his face and thinks 'get your fucking hands off my face'?

Yes. I said a while ago that the club can't afford to be seen to just perform a volte face on this. Obviously sometimes factors can intervene to change things, but nothing really has here: Ward has simply carried on hawking his client around as if he's out of contract. If the club crumbles over that it will have no real authority whenever anyone else tries the same thing.

He's just a classless little shithead. The signs have been there for years, I suppose it was just convenient to ignore them until now.

The fight with his gf, troubles with the Police, hanging out with Ravel Morrison, the kid (I remember the mother bollocking him on Twitter for forgetting its birthday), demands to be given his debut at barely 17.

Just a wrongun.

I can't wait to see the stampede of clients to Aidy Wards agency.

Whats it called anyway?

That's not exactly meant verbatim is it though, if Madrid came in and offered us 400mill cash for him I think we'd consider it.

This summer the club and rodgers have said nothing about the situation, and I'm sure they're going to have to shortly.
