Henderson doesn't give the ball away whenever he gets it. He also works hard to win it back. These are good things away from home.

think you have been watching the wrong hendo in the final 3rd this season, he has given the ball away a number of times. if you want working hard, you have lucas and allen in the middle, who retain possession better. if you want goals and assists Hendo is not your man.

Let's take baby steps here.

How about someone who doesn't end up costing his side a goal because he tries to lazily beat players in a way that will never work near his own corner flag?

In other words, not Moses.

why the sarcy tone? it's an opinion, you may not agree with it, but its not unreasonable. I am not advocating kelly as cf?

moses has struggled sure, but that is partly because he was operating in a 3-5-2 early on. there is talent there and provided you have good midfield def cover, his ability to score goals, unlike Hendo, warrants him being in contention. At this moment Hendo couldn't score in a brothel.

With regards to your first point, I dislike Moses and seeing his people argue his case aggravates me.

With regards to your second point, Moses has struggled a lot (not in the least in the "giving a shit" stakes) and therefore doesn't deserve to start in a tough away match where we need players to be 100%. We can always bring him on as a sub later if we need pace or whatever.

I think moses has some talent, & playing as an out & out winger can offer something.

However we aren't playing the system to allow that, & neither do we play a system that allows any player to not track back or put a shift in, which unfortunately he seems reluctant or incapable of doing.

I'd be surprised if Moses gets a start. Henderson deserves all the plaudits he gets. It was hard to see him having a future at Liverpool and well done to the lad for turning down a move to Fulham to put in a shift and fight for a place. He has come a long way when he is seen as an automatic starter in the absence of Gerrard.

Is he an automatic starter because he's good enough to replace him, or because we have no better option?

He's decent, but he has a long way to go before he'll be able to come close to replacing Gerrard.

Henderson has been in the team on merit whether Gerrard has started or not. He is in direct competition with Allen and Lucas. There's no way that he is good enough at this point to replace Gerrard (even in decline) in the team.

"Jordan trained so he's fine," said Rodgers. "It was just precautionary the last few days.
"It was a bad challenge that was made on him, but thankfully he's okay. But we'll see how he is tomorrow as well."

So no Moses. I'm sure the front 6 will stay the same as it was after Gerrard's substitution on Saturday: Lucas, Allen, Hendo, Coutinho, Sterling, Suarez. The only questions are in the back 4. Also, there are a couple of different possibilities with Henderson, he can play in the middle with Allen to help contain the Spurs midfield 3, or he can start on the right or left wing. Rodgers needs to get the tactics exactly right for this game. Spurs have both clear strengths and clear weaknesses and so do we.

And.... just as Spurs is getting into form with their spanking of Anzhi and Soldado with a hatrick. Or is it just fluke?

*bites nails*

Another penalty, a set piece header, the other was a great finish though from a nice ball by Lamela who most likely won't play, doubt Soldado will play either if he was playing tonight.

Lamela looks soft as shite from the evidence on offer over since hes been over here, doesn't matter how much talent you have if you are a pussy you won't get far, doesn't look any fight in him at all, biggest flop of the season so far with ease, £30 million for that? Ouch.

Spurs just look dull, even winning 4-1 tonight it was boring to watch.

I've been thinking for a while that Soldado and Eriksen will score against us. Just because we're that unfortunate.

Average pitch position to give an idea how we shaped up last year against them during the game.

For a Sunday game, Saturdays training applies for bib theory, not Fridays, learn the basics SO!

Rodgers needs a big away win – and fast

Liverpool have yet to win a game away from home against one of the Big Teams under Brendan Rodgers. It's probably not long before that underwhelming banter generator, That Internet, proclaims him as the David Moyes de nos jours, especially as across the park Roberto Martínez cracked the code of winning big on the road, at Manchester United, not long after taking over. Rodgers should be cut a little slack, though. It's not as though he sends his team on to the pitch with a negative mind-set: there have been 2-2 draws at Arsenal andManchester City, plus a 3-3 at Everton. And on other days, results could have been much more positive, had Jordan Henderson, Joe Allen and Pepe Reina not flown into flat spins at various inopportune moments (at Old Trafford, Goodison and the Etihad). The thin line between success and failure in professional sport, huh? Having said that, Rodgers needs to register a big win on his travels soon, or this could develop into a complex. Liverpool have an appalling record at White Hart Lane but Tottenham's current uncertainties offer him an opportunity. If not now, then Chelsea and Manchester City come in quick succession. Fail to win any of those – a prospect that's hardly a faint one – and Liverpool have themselves a little mental problem brewing. Scott Murray

Shooting Positions from last year to provide a flavor of their tendancy to whack them from outside the box and it has continued into this season.

Big difference between them (69%) and us (35%) in that game.

That article is correct, we need to get at least one win over the next three away games.

We dont need to but a win would be great for our league position and confidence.
Reaching January we've played every top 7 side away from home and that gives us a great position infront on the second half of the season. Hopefully we'll be 4th or thereabouts after Chelsea away.

we kind of do need to. we can't keep losing against every side in the top half of the table if we want champions league. the league is too tight to get away with it.

Much like Moses, Lucas and Allen and maybe a few others, Henderson is only in the team because we're lacking better alternatives

Agreed. But we are in the situation we're in.

I'd rather have a player with limited ability who gives 100% over a half arsed shirker like Moses who, instead of proving he's good enough, seems to think he's just got to turn up and play.

His attitude is wrong.

But I agree with your point.

Yeah absolutly, but a draw away from home against the top sides is a good result aswell.
To keep the momentum going and not get left behind we cant afford to lose to many of those games.

A win would be great but the negative side of me thinks we'll get 4-5 points from the next 4 games, with the win coming against Cardiff at home.
