When gerrard went off injured he gave the armband to johnson i believe . I sort of get that as he's a senior member of the team and i get the feeling highly thought of . But i'd give it to Suarez for this game , despite his ridiculous behaviour in the summer .

He's done it before:

Didn't go too well...

So in the build up to this game there's been a fair bit of talk of the team stepping up without gerrard , of needing to bring our home form to away games and how we need to make a statement of intent. Big game but we're always useless at White hart lane so hard to be too confident .

Rumoured team:

Mignolet
Johnson Skrtel Sakho Flanno
Lucas Allen
Hendo Coutinho Sterling
Suarez

I like the team ... I would switch Hendo and Sterling and Flanno will need more help than Johnson tbh.

@Dreambeliever - we're not talking about Manure going to play away, we're talking about the MIGHTY REDS. We are going for a fucking POINt! 😉

Anything but a hammering in this game and I'll be stunned.

Spurs always smash us down there.

If by smash, you mean draw or nick an ill-deserved win - which, being you, is entirely possible - it's impossible to be sure whether your understanding of anything bears any semblance to reality.

Beating Spurs at WHL isn't exactly impossible, especially considering that they have trouble scoring.
We can't have any lapses in defence tomorrow.
Suarez has to win it for us.

Apparently Rose, Chiriches and Eriksen will all be back for them tomorrow, which is a huge shame.

Eriksen - yes. He's got the ability to cause us headaches. Let's hope Lucas eats him up.

Rose - not a great defender.

Chiriches - not seen much of him, but he's better there than Capoue I'm sure.

Rose and Eriksen have been out for a while though, and Holtby has been quite good lately and will probably start. Verthongen is their best CB and Chricies or whathisface isnt close to that.

I'm mostly concerned about Flanno vs Walker/Lennon. I can see that resulting in nothing but grief tbh.

Hopefully Rodgers has told Flannagan to keep showing him inside, he'll have cover there, and its on to his stronger foot, he'll be raped on the outside by Lennon, Sterling has to stick with Rose.

This is a fair point, because Flanno has been left there to pretty much defend with no one infront of him permanently offering protection. I wouldn't be surprised to see a change in tact on our left.

I don't get this, Sterling tracks back well.

Spurs finished 1 point behind the arse last season and spent £100 million, they have got a easy ride (london press?) for their form.......

We've had 8 days to prepare for this game...you'd hope we'll have a good game plan and the players will be fired up.

No more weak, shitty performances Redmen, time for a few players to stand up and be counted!!!

Yep, if we cant be fired up for tomorrow then there is something wrong. But I thought so before Hull away aswell.

Spurs have a less than an impressive record in their matches following a Europa league game.

Luis Suarez ready to discuss his Liverpool future as agent looks to improve striker's current deal

The Uruguayan's transformation from sinner to saint will end with him being named captain on Sunday - and it could lead to a new contract too

New deal? Suarez could be ready to discuss his future
Andrew Powell

Luis Suarez is ready to discuss his future with Liverpool, writes Dean Jones of the Sunday People .

Agent Pere Guardiola is planning a trip to Merseyside before the end of the year for talks with club representatives about improving the Uruguayan’s deal.

Suarez is set to complete his transformation from sinner to saint by being made Liverpool captain today in the absence of the injured Steven Gerrard.

In the summer he desperately pushed for a transfer – but since the window closed he has bagged 15 goals this season, inspiring the Reds to challenge for the title.

Suarez is understood to have promised boss Brendan Rodgers he will not leave in January.

But discussions over his contract would give the Suarez camp an opportunity to add new clauses.

Staying put: Rodgers has been told Suarez will not be going anywhere in January

One factor certain to be discussed is a significant rise on his current financial agreement of around £120,000-a-week if Liverpool finish in the top four.

Barcelona and Real Madrid both want to sign him and, after the controversy over the £40million release clause that sparked Arsenal to make a summer bid, it is possible a new higher transfer trigger fee could be inserted.

Madrid, Suarez’s preferred choice, seems the most likely destination when he does eventually leave.
