He's one or the best strikers I've ever seen. Unfortunately his long spells out & spells like this where he still scores remarkably regularly but is clearly not as effective as he can be tend to skew opinion of him leading to underestimation of exactly how good he really is.

There's a reason they don't. Its cos they have ultimate belief that they can score.
