Somebody Will Be Missing The Comfort Of Sky Right Now

Really don't know why he accepted a job in Spain. His first managerial job and he immediately has a massive language barrier (I assume he doesnt know Spanish too well), league he's never played in etc.

I think he could have been a decent manager at a mid table premiership side. He should have waited around for an Everton / Swansea / Southampton type job.

Because his mate owns the club.

If our team were in a better place I would take a great deal of satisfaction at Neville's discomfort. Unfortunately at the moment I get very little pleasure from it.

Really?

I think that a bit of schadenfreude here and there is helping me keep it together when it comes to football!

And there's no way he won't walk straight back into the Sky job. This is Sky, remember, who employ the likes of Paul Merson, who managed Walsall for 94 games, winning 32 and losing 39, and give him a platform to criticise managers who have won European Cups.

Hmm. Nope. Tried that for five minutes, but it was counterbalanced by the fact that we are watching the mancs disappear over the horizon, as we remove the spare wheel from the boot and discover that it's flat.

Where's that Sky quote when he talks about teams going to Barcelona and losing 5, 6, 7-0, and if he was a manager and lost 7-0 he wouldn't be able to look his family in the face?

Ah. Page one of this actual thread. durrr.

Former Liverpool boss lined up to replace Gary Neville
Former Liverpool and Chelsea manager Rafael Benitez is being lined up to replace Gary Neville at Valencia, A Bola reports.

Neville's tenure in Spain took a dramatic turn for the worse on Wednesday night, when his Valencia team were thrashed 7-0 by Barcelona.
The humiliating Copa del Rey semi-final defeat was a crushing blow for the club's supporters, who had been dreaming of a first trophy since 2008.
Neville's record in La Liga hasn't been much better, with the England coach registering five draws and three defeats from eight matches.
Benitez, who was harshly dismissed by Real Madrid in January, was the last manager to win La Liga with Valencia, and is still greatly admired by everyone at the club.
The 55 year-old's representatives have already made it clear that he would be open to taking over at the club whenever Neville's reign comes to an end.
The big question is whether Neville will be dismissed before the end of the season, or allowed to see the 2015/16 campaign out in charge.
